Street art and mural painting festival in La Ferté-Macé
The Street Art FMR Festival is an urban art festival organized every autumn in La Ferté-Macé, in the Orne department, by the associations ArtBeauRésens and Roadbook'arts in partnership with the city. Since 2013, this festival has invited street art artists each year to create new murals in the city, transforming La Ferté-Macé into an open-air art gallery. The event offers artist residencies, exhibitions, meetings, activities, and workshops on urban art, in a spirit of being free and open to all.
Since 2013, the Street Art FMR Festival has been transforming the walls of La Ferté-Macé into monumental works of art. Supported by the associations ArtBeauRésens and Roadbook'arts, this urban art festival has made this small town in the Orne bocage a must-visit destination for street art in Normandy.
Each edition invites four street art artists to be in residence to create new murals on the city's facades. The artists work on-site for about ten days, allowing the public to witness the creation of the works in real-time. Over the years, La Ferté-Macé has become a true open-air museum with dozens of monumental murals adorning its streets.
Each edition is built around a theme that guides the creations of the invited artists. The 2025 edition, the 13th, had the theme "Heritage: City of Art and History", with artists Stoul, Art'So, K2B, and Yelow invited to engage with the city's architectural and cultural heritage.
Beyond the murals, the festival offers a varied program of activities:
The Street Art FMR Festival has forged cultural links with Guadeloupe, where it exports its concept with a second session each autumn. This Caribbean dimension adds cultural richness and strengthens the festival's international reach.
True to the spirit of street art, the festival is completely free and accessible to everyone. The murals, visible year-round, make La Ferté-Macé a destination for artistic walks throughout the year.

The trail is accessible all year round, not just during the festival period.
Festival is entirely free. The murals are permanently visible from public spaces. Activities and exhibitions during the festival are also free.
The festival takes place over about ten days in October. Artists create murals live, and activities are offered throughout the period, with highlights on weekends.
