British and Irish Film Festival in Dinard
The Dinard British and Irish Film Festival is a major film event held annually in Dinard in October. Since 1989, the festival has highlighted British and Irish cinema through screenings, previews, and meetings with directors. The 35th edition took place from October 2nd to 6th, 2024.
The Dinard British and Irish Film Festival is one of the most prestigious film events in Brittany. Since 1989, the festival has highlighted the richness and diversity of British and Irish cinema in the exceptional setting of Dinard, a seaside resort on the Emerald Coast.
Each edition offers a selection of films in competition divided into five main themes, exploring personal stories, societal issues, and varied artistic visions. Screenings are accompanied by meetings with directors and actors, offering the public privileged access to the creators.
Since 2024, the festival has expanded its program to include Irish cinema, becoming the Dinard British and Irish Film Festival. This expansion further enriches the cinematic offering and reflects the cultural ties between the British Isles.
Each year, a jury of cinema personalities presides over the competition. For the 36th edition in 2025, Rupert Everett presided over the jury, accompanied by Jennifer Saunders, Ruby Wax, Molly Dineen, Rachida Brakni, Claire Chazal, and RΓ©da Kateb.
