The folklore celebration in Chamberet

Every year at the beginning of August, the small village of Chamberet in Corrèze comes alive to the rhythm of folk dances and music from around the world. The Chamberet Folklore Festival, organized by the municipality and the association Bouger à Chamberet in partnership with the Sarran folklore festival, has become a must-attend event for lovers of traditions and popular culture.

Three days of folk celebration

The festival takes place over three days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) on the first weekend of August. The program includes: folk dance shows, traditional music concerts, parades in costume, street entertainment, and moments of sharing about world cultures.

An international program

The festival hosts folk groups from all over the world: Europe (Auvergne, Brittany, Basque Country, Alsace, but also Spain, Italy, Germany, Poland...), Africa, Asia, South America... Each group presents the traditional dances and music of its region or country, in authentic and colorful costumes.

The shows highlight the richness and diversity of folk traditions: village dances, regional music, popular songs, traditional instruments...

Entertainment for everyone

Beyond the main shows, the festival offers numerous free activities:

  • Folk parades through the village streets
  • Introductions to traditional dances: the public is invited to dance with the groups
  • Line dancing and traditional balls
  • Street entertainment and encounters with artists
  • Regional and international gastronomy stands

A free and family-friendly festival

One of the great advantages of the Chamberet Folklore Festival is that it is completely free. Accessible to all, it attracts hundreds of spectators each year who come to discover or rediscover folk traditions in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

In case of bad weather, the shows are moved to the village's multi-purpose hall, ensuring the smooth running of the festival regardless of the weather conditions.
