Plateau Picard Spring Festival: Art in the Open Air

Since 2015, the Communauté de Communes du Plateau Picard has been organizing its Spring Festival, a cultural event that celebrates the arrival of good weather through a rich and eclectic program of street arts, music, and shows. This free, family-friendly festival has become a must-attend event in the cultural life of northern Oise.

A Street Arts Festival

The Spring Festival showcases street arts in all their forms:

  • Street Theater: professional companies offering interactive and offbeat performances
  • Artistic Parades: processions, musical corteges, and giant characters taking over public spaces
  • Artistic Installations: ephemeral works and original scenographies transforming the venue
  • Contemporary Circus: acrobats, jugglers, and tightrope walkers for the eyes to feast on

A Varied Musical Program

Music plays a central role in the festival with concerts on stage and as parades. The orchestra from the Saint-Just-en-Chaussée music schools, local vocal ensembles, and guest artists liven up the festival in a festive and warm atmosphere, blending swing, world music, and original creations.

The Espace De Baynast

The festival takes place at the Espace De Baynast, the headquarters of the Communauté de Communes du Plateau Picard, located in Le Plessier-sur-Saint-Just. This site offers indoor and outdoor spaces suitable for an open-air event, with gardens and lawns that host the festival's various stages and installations.

A Commitment to Culture in Rural Areas

The Spring Festival is part of the ambitious cultural policy of the Communauté de Communes du Plateau Picard, which also offers a year-round cultural season and a renowned Jazz Festival. These events contribute to the attractiveness of the territory and the cultural influence of this rural area in northern Oise.

A Family-Friendly and Convivial Event

The festival is designed to welcome all audiences, from the youngest to the oldest. Specific activities for children—creative workshops, games, shows for young audiences—are offered throughout the weekend. The relaxed and welcoming atmosphere of the festival makes it a cherished moment of sharing and conviviality for everyone.
