Amateur Theatre in the Spotlight in the Haute Vallée de l'Aude

Since 2012, the Quillan Amateur Theatre Festival has highlighted the vitality and passion of amateur theatre companies in France. Organized by the City of Quillan in partnership with the FNCTA (National Federation of Theatre and Animation Companies), this festival hosts five to six selected companies every autumn for the quality of their work and the diversity of their repertoire. The Espace Cathare, Quillan's performance hall, offers a professional setting for these passionate troupes.

An Eclectic and Accessible Program

The festival's program covers a wide range of theatrical genres: vaudeville, dramatic comedy, contemporary theatre, police thriller, and farce. Classic authors like Feydeau or Molière are featured alongside contemporary playwrights, offering the audience a varied and surprising program. The Espace Cathare: A Gem for Live Performance

The Espace Cathare, located on Boulevard Charles de Gaulle in Quillan, is the reference performance hall in the Haute Vallée de l'Aude. With a capacity of 350 seats and a modular stage, it offers professional technical conditions for the invited companies. Its proximity to Quillan train station and the availability of free parking make the venue easily accessible for spectators from all over the valley.
