The Forges et Métallurgie Festival is an event organized by the association 3F-3M (Fire – Iron – Forges – Ores – Minerals – Metals) in Étouars, near Nontron, in Dordogne. Every summer in July, this festival brings to life 2,000 years of metallurgy history with iron and bronze casting, blacksmith-forger demonstrations, bloomery furnaces, exhibitions, guided tours of the royal forges of Forge Neuve, and activities for all ages.

Reliving 2,000 years of metallurgy
The Forges et Métallurgie Festival, subtitled "2,000 years of history", is driven by the association 3F-3M (Fire – Iron – Forges – Ores – Minerals – Metals), which revives the history of the forges and foundries of Périgord-Limousin. The event takes place every summer in Étouars, a village located near Nontron, on the village square opposite the town hall.
Demonstrations and Know-how
The program includes iron and bronze casting, forge demonstrations by blacksmith-forgers, the operation of bloomery furnaces and blast furnaces, ore reduction, and exhibitions tracing the history of metallurgy in the region.
Industrial Heritage of Périgord
The festival includes guided tours of the royal forges of Forge Neuve and the Iron and Forges space, allowing visitors to discover the exceptional industrial heritage of Périgord-Limousin. Activities for children, a barbecue meal on Saturday evening, and a blacksmiths' lunch on Sunday complete the program.
