About GéNéRiQ

Born from the will of five contemporary music venues in the Rhin-Rhône corridor, GéNéRiQ is a unique winter festival that deploys its concerts every winter in unusual and unexpected places — churches, gymnasiums, apartments, schools — in five major cities in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. In Belfort, La Poudrière carries the torch of this anti-festival that brings popular music where it is not expected, mixing established artists and emerging gems from around the world.

GéNéRiQ: The Anti-Festival That Comes to You

Born from the initiative of five major contemporary music venues in the Rhin-Rhône corridor, the GéNéRiQ festival embodies an original and militant vision of music dissemination. Its slogan perfectly summarizes its project: "Don't move, we're bringing popular music to you!" Every winter, GéNéRiQ unfolds in the streets, unusual places, and venues of the five partner cities to offer exceptionally high-quality concerts where they are least expected.

A Network of Five Partner Cities

GéNéRiQ was born from the collaboration of five emblematic contemporary music venues in the region: La Poudrière in Belfort, La Vapeur in Dijon, Le Noumatrouff in Mulhouse, Le Moloco in Audincourt, and La Rodia in Besançon. They are joined by the Eurockéennes de Belfort for programming. Together, these partners build a coherent and ambitious program spread across the five urban areas, allowing everyone to enjoy at least one concert near their home.

Unusual Venues for a Unique Experience

What sets GéNéRiQ apart from all other festivals is the deliberate choice of unconventional venues for most of its concerts: churches, high schools, circuses, apartments, choreographic centers, museums… In Belfort, the Théâtre Le Granit, La Poudrière, and various unexpected spaces in the city center become ephemeral stages for concerts, maximizing the proximity between artists and the audience. Half of the concerts are offered free of charge.

A Program Mixing Generations and Genres

GéNéRiQ stands out for its eclectic programming that rejects boundaries between genres and generations. Over ten editions, the festival has hosted artists as diverse as Christophe, Fauve, Cascadeur, Feu ! Chatterton, Phoebe Killdeer, Cléa Vincent, and many others, mixing established stars with gems from the national and international emerging scene. In about ten editions, the festival has built a strong identity and unparalleled audience loyalty.

GéNéRiQ in the Belfort Territory

In Belfort and the Pays de Montbéliard, GéNéRiQ invests not only La Poudrière and Le Moloco but also living spaces like the Théâtre Le Granit, the Maison de la Négritude et des Droits de l'Homme, as well as gymnasiums and community spaces. With about thirty events in the Belfort-Montbéliard area, the festival deeply permeates the winter cultural life of the territory.

A Festival Designed for Everyone

With half of its concerts free and reasonable pricing for paid concerts, GéNéRiQ is aimed at all audiences, including those who do not usually attend performance venues. This inclusive dimension is at the heart of the project: democratizing access to quality music, breaking down social and geographical barriers, and making every concert a community life event.

GéNéRiQ — edition 2026

The GéNéRiQ festival returns in November 2026 in the five partner cities of the Rhin-Rhône corridor, including Belfort. Concerts in unusual venues, eclectic programming, half free: the winter anti-festival of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté is preparing an ambitious new edition.

2026 Edition — A New Musical Winter in Belfort

The GéNéRiQ festival returns in November 2026 for a new itinerant edition in the five partner urban areas of the Rhin-Rhône corridor. In Belfort, La Poudrière and its local partners will host a new series of concerts in both unusual and anticipated venues.

Upcoming Program

The program for the 2026 edition will be unveiled in the fall of 2026 on the festival's official website. As in previous years, it will offer a mix of established artists and discoveries, free and paid concerts, in venues as varied as they are intimate.

The GéNéRiQ Spirit

True to its founding philosophy, the 2026 festival will once again bring quality popular music to the heart of cities and neighborhoods, breaking down barriers between the audience and artists. Half of the concerts will be free, as every year.
