Les Flâneries d'Été: Culture Comes to You
Conceived and supported by the Département du Territoire de Belfort, Les Flâneries d'Été embodies a decentralized and popular vision of culture. Their principle is simple and generous: rather than concentrating cultural offerings in the main city, the festival travels each week to a different town in the department, bringing quality performances to residents throughout the territory, whether they live in urban or rural areas.
An Original Format: Summer Tuesday Evenings
From mid-July to the end of August, every Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM, a town in the Territoire de Belfort transforms into an open-air stage. The shows, all different, explore the multiple facets of live performance: street theater, magic, comedy, musical concerts, fire arts, dance, and circus arts. The traveling format allows every resident of the department to attend a show a few kilometers from their home, with no entrance fee.
Emerging Talents in the Spotlight
One of the unique features of Les Flâneries is the systematic inclusion of young local and regional artists selected through auditions to perform as opening acts for the main shows. These artists, from singing, theater, and street arts, find in Les Flâneries a valuable first professional stage, performing for a large and supportive audience.
The 2025 Edition: Seven Towns, Seven Shows
The 2025 edition visited seven towns in the territory: Trévenans, Saint-Dizier-l'Évêque, Méziré, Denney, Fontaine, Rougemont-le-Château, and Belfort. Every Tuesday evening from July 15th to August 26th, a different artistic performance was presented, ranging from comedy theater to magic, music, and street performance. The opening acts by selected local artists helped introduce new talents to the local audience.
The 2026 Edition: A Seventh Traveling Season
For its new season, Les Flâneries d'Été 2026 will resume its summer tour in the towns of the Territoire de Belfort, with a selection of new live performances offered in seven partner towns. The list of participating towns and the artistic program will be announced in the spring of 2026 on the Department's website.
