The feminist festival of the Landes in Mont-de-Marsan
HÉBÉ! is a free feminist festival held at the Château de Nahuques in Mont-de-Marsan. Created in 2021 by the association Team Sama, it brings together nearly 200 volunteers to make feminism accessible in rural areas. For three days, the program combines concerts, creative and political workshops, conversations, literary encounters, a creators' market, a clothing swap, and activities for children, all free of charge.
Born in 2021 from the reflection of two engaged women — journalist Margaux Labarthe and activist Salima Sensou — the HÉBÉ! festival is the result of an observation: feminism often remains confined to big cities, and people living in rural areas are excluded from it. HÉBÉ!'s ambition is to create a space for meeting, reflection, and celebration among the inhabitants of the Southwest, grassroots activists, and contemporary feminist figures.
HÉBÉ! is supported by the association Team Sama, founded in 2019, which has brought together nearly 200 volunteers around the issues of women's place in society. The association's name, Sama, means "to listen" in Arabic, embodying this desire for listening and dialogue. Team Sama organizes the festival and carries out feminist actions throughout the year in the Landes.
Each edition of HÉBÉ! offers a dense program centered around an annual theme. The 2025 edition, for example, explored the theme of anger: the legitimacy to feel it, express it, and show it depending on who you are (woman, racialized person, gender minority, disabled person). The program includes:
The festival takes place at the Château de Nahuques, in the Peyrouat district of Mont-de-Marsan. This tree-lined park offers a green and peaceful setting to welcome festival-goers. The choice of this location, in a working-class neighborhood, is a strong political statement: anchoring feminism in the heart of the city, as close as possible to the residents.
True to its values of accessibility, HÉBÉ! is entirely free. However, the festival invites those who can to contribute with a donation of their choice to support the association and ensure the event's sustainability. This free access is made possible by the work of volunteers, the support of institutional partners, and donations from participants.
The 6th edition of the HÉBÉ! festival will be held in June 2026 at the Château de Nahuques in Mont-de-Marsan. Three days of free feminist festival with concerts, workshops, conversations, literary encounters, and a creators' market. Theme and programming to be announced.
The HÉBÉ! festival returns to the Château de Nahuques in Mont-de-Marsan for its 6th edition from June 5 to 7, 2026. The Team Sama association and its volunteers are preparing a new weekend of free feminist festival, with concerts, creative and political workshops, conversations, literary encounters, a creators' market, and activities for children.
The theme of this new edition and the full program will be unveiled in the spring of 2026 on the festival's social media.
The festival takes place at the Château de Nahuques, Avenue de Villeneuve, Peyrouat district, 40000 Mont-de-Marsan. The tree-lined park of the château, green and shaded, is the main festival area, hosting concert stages, workshop spaces, the creators' market, and relaxation areas.
The festival is held in June, over a three-day weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Activities begin in the late morning and continue into the evening with concerts. The detailed schedule of times is announced on the festival's social media.
The festival is entirely free. A donation of your choice is welcome to support the Team Sama association and ensure the event's sustainability. Donation boxes are available on-site.
A food truck and a bar are set up on-site throughout the festival, offering varied catering, including vegetarian and vegan options, at affordable prices.
The festival is open to everyone. Efforts are made to make the site accessible to people with reduced mobility. Quiet spaces and rest areas are provided for those who need them. The festival is designed as a welcoming, inclusive, and safe space.
HÉBÉ! is aimed at all people interested in feminist issues, regardless of their gender identity. Activities are specifically planned for children, with a dedicated space. The festival is a place for intergenerational encounters.
