Edition 2025 — Résurgence
Ninth edition of the Résurgence festival, exploring themes of exile, migration, integration, and the construction of a common society. Inspired by Gisèle Freund, a photographer and sociologist who hid in the Lot during the Occupation, this edition brought together 48 artists and offered 99 cultural events in 30 towns.
Résurgence IX: Éternel Refuge
The ninth edition of the Résurgence festival, titled Éternel Refuge, resonated with the commemorations of the end of World War II. The edition was inspired by Gisèle Freund, a German photographer and sociologist of Jewish origin, hidden by a family in Saint-Sozy during the Occupation before settling in Carennac.
A large-scale edition
The festival deployed an exceptional program across 30 towns in the Cauvaldor territory, with 91 partners. The collective exhibition at the Beffroi Saint-Martin brought together 48 artists from here and elsewhere around the themes of exile, migration, multiculturalism, and refuge.
In total, 99 cultural events punctuated these two months: 13 openings, 18 workshops, 19 film screenings, 31 conferences and round tables, 13 theater performances, and 14 guided tours. The opening weekend was marked by Les Tables Cabanes, a culinary and sensory performance by artists Camille Savoye and Anna Burlet on Place Betz.
