Edition 2026 — Résurgence
Tenth edition of the Résurgence festival, paying homage to Gaston Monnerville, a major figure from Guyana in French political life, senator of the Lot and president of the Senate for 21 years. The edition invites reflection on democracy, citizenship, the role of the media, and the place of youth in society.
Résurgence X: Chose Publique
For its tenth edition, the Résurgence festival pays homage to Gaston Monnerville (1897-1991), a major figure from Guyana in French political life. A lawyer, former resistance fighter, mayor of Saint-Céré, president of the General Council of the Lot, and president of the Senate for 21 years (1947-1968), Monnerville was a tireless defender of republican values and the rule of law.
Art, democracy, and youth
The Chose Publique edition invites residents and visitors to reflect on what constitutes democracy today: voting, institutions, citizenship, the fight against racism, the role of the media in the age of fake news and artificial intelligence, as well as the place of youth in society.
The program takes the form of a major exhibition combining contemporary art, photojournalism, and press drawing, created in collaboration with FRAC Méca. As every year, satellite exhibitions and cultural events are deployed in the towns of the Cauvaldor territory.
