Edition 2026 — Festival Salera
For its 3rd edition, the Salera Festival invites you on June 20 and 21, 2026 at Domaine de Courcelles in Salbris. The 2026 theme: the reenactment of the Year of the Four Emperors (June 68 - December 69 AD), a period during which Galba, Otho, and Vitellius succeeded each other at the head of the Roman Empire before the advent of Vespasian. On the program: Great Circus Games with chariot races, gladiator fights, an ancient market, a historical banquet on Saturday evening, and concerts.
Theme of the 2026 Edition: The Year of the Four Emperors
For its 3rd edition, the Salera Festival dedicates its reenactment to a major episode in Roman history: the Year of the Four Emperors, a turbulent period spanning from June 68 to December 69 AD. During these eighteen months, three emperors (Galba, Otho, Vitellius) succeeded each other at the head of the Roman Empire before power passed to Vespasian, the first emperor of the new Flavian dynasty. A theme rich in political and military twists and turns that serves as a backdrop for the weekend's activities.
New for 2026
The 2026 edition marks the arrival at Domaine de Courcelles, the festival's new site in Salbris. The prestigious historical reenactment troupe Teuta Arverni joins the program, alongside the equestrian stunt performers from Pégase Prod. New features include: a falconry show with Les Ailes d'Urga (free-flying birds of prey), a gladiator school open to the public, workshops for handling catapults and scorpions, and a large ancient market bringing together about thirty merchants.
Saturday Evening Music
On Saturday evening, after the historical banquet, the musical evening will be enlivened by the bands Nataverne and Prima Nocta (Belgian folk metal), for a festive atmosphere until 11:30 PM.
