2023 Edition — Spicy Sounds from Africa to the Americas
The second edition of the Sons au fil de l'eau festival was held on June 30th and July 1st, 2023, at Place des Grèves, on the banks of the Loire. For this edition, the cultural service of La Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin had prepared a program with spicy flavors, traveling from Africa to the United States, via the Caribbean and Colombia.
On Friday, June 30th, the evening began with the KAFI brass band, an offbeat street collective that reinterprets the concept of "Congolese sapeurs" in a French style with spicy music for a flamboyant and festive show. Home Cookin' then took over with Rhythm & Blues and Soul influenced by blues, rock, and jazz.
On Saturday, July 1st, the day featured children's shows in the afternoon, followed by evening concerts mixing blues, soul, and world music in the warm atmosphere characteristic of the festival.
