The great summer and popular festival of the village of Cravanche
The Fête de Cravanche is the unmissable festive event of this residential commune just a stone's throw from Belfort. Every summer, the festival committee mobilizes volunteers and associations to offer residents and visitors a day of conviviality: activities for children, games, a popular ball, a refreshment stand, and a country meal. A moment of sharing rooted in the social life of the village of 2,000 inhabitants, in the communal hall La Cravanchoise.
Nestled a few kilometers north of Belfort, the commune of Cravanche (90300) is a residential town of just under 2,000 inhabitants – the Cravanchois – which perpetuates the tradition of the village festival every summer. The Fête de Cravanche, organized by the local festival committee with the support of the municipality and community associations, brings together families and neighbors for a day of conviviality and sharing.
The festival traditionally takes place around the communal hall La Cravanchoise, a multi-purpose hall with a capacity of over 300 people, ideally located to host indoor and outdoor activities. From the morning, preparations get underway: setting up food stalls, arranging games and attractions for the younger ones, decorating the site.
The afternoon opens with activities for children: inflatable games, sack races, pétanque competitions, sports tournaments, and various activities organized by local associations. The little ones can enjoy rides and creative workshops, while adults gather at the refreshment stand or around an affordable country meal.
The evening takes on a festive dimension with the arrival of musicians. A popular ball or a concert featuring local and regional artists concludes the day in a good mood. Accordion, French variety, musette, or rock – the genres vary from year to year, but the atmosphere is always present. The Cravanchois and their guests dance late into the night, in a warm and friendly atmosphere characteristic of Franche-Comté village festivals.
The Fête de Cravanche is more than just a fête: it is a moment of social cohesion that brings together all generations. Every year, several hundred people respond to the festival committee's invitation to share meals, music, and good cheer. The numerous and dedicated volunteers ensure the smooth running of the event in an exemplary associative spirit. The festival also helps to fund the budget of local associations, which benefit from the proceeds of refreshments and food sales to finance their annual activities.
Cravanche stands out for its privileged geographical location: nestled against the Salbert forest to the west and facing the Belfort agglomeration to the east, the commune benefits from a green living environment just a few minutes from the center of Belfort. This semi-rural setting gives the local festival a special flavor, combining the proximity of urban services with the authenticity of Franche-Comté village traditions.
The Fête de Cravanche 2026 will take place as every summer around the communal hall La Cravanchoise. On the program: activities for children, games, country meal, refreshment stand, and popular ball in the evening for a day of celebration and conviviality open to all.
The Fête de Cravanche 2026 will be held in the summer, continuing the tradition of the village festival dear to the Cravanchois. The festival committee is preparing a new edition full of activities, music, and conviviality to bring together young and old around the values of living together.
