The Fête de Fontaine: history and conviviality in an exceptional village

The village of Fontaine (90150) holds a special place in the history of the Territoire de Belfort. It was here, in the shade of the famous Tilleul de Turenne, that Marshal Turenne stopped before winning the battle that liberated Alsace on December 31, 1674. This exceptional historical heritage gives the commune a strong identity, which its annual village festival helps to celebrate and pass on.

A festive program rooted in tradition

The Fête de Fontaine offers a program typical of Franche-Comté village festivals, adapted to the family-friendly and convivial nature of this commune of about 600 inhabitants. The afternoon begins with activities for children: outdoor games, races, creative activities, and friendly tournaments that liven up the communal areas.

Each summer, Fontaine also hosts a stop on the Flâneries d'été, the traveling festival of the Territoire de Belfort organized by the Departmental Council. These free shows - storytellers, musicians, street artists - complement the commune's summer festive offerings and attract an audience from all over the region.
