The great summer festival of the border town in the Territoire de Belfort
The Fête Locale de Delle is the big summer popular event for this town of 6,500 inhabitants on the doorstep of Switzerland. Distinct from the patron saint's festival and the national July 14th festivities, this summer festival brings all the Dellois together around various activities, shows, friendly catering, and a festive evening organized by local associations and the municipality.
Delle (90100) is a town of approximately 6,500 inhabitants in the Territoire de Belfort, known for its unique position on the Franco-Swiss border. A garrison town, a historic stronghold, and a crossroads between French and Swiss cultures, Delle has maintained a strong local identity and a dynamic associative life.
The Fête Locale de Delle is distinct from the patron saint's festival and the July 14th festivities. It is a summer event in its own right, organized by Delle's associations with the support of the municipality to celebrate the town's life in a popular and friendly atmosphere.
The Fête Locale de Delle offers a rich program for all generations:
Delle derives its name from the Latin Delemont and was long an enclave of the Swiss canton of Jura before becoming definitively French. This particular history gives it a unique atmosphere, halfway between two cultures. The international station of Delle, reopened in 2018 on the Belfort-Delle-Delémont line, symbolizes this strong link with neighboring Switzerland.
The old town of Delle, with its half-timbered houses and its Saint-Jean-Baptiste church, is worth a visit during the festivities. The Porte de Berne, a remnant of the old fortifications, recalls Delle's past as a military town.
Delle has many active associations in all fields: sports, culture, mutual aid, local history... This associative richness is the driving force of local life and guarantees the quality of the activities offered during the summer festival. The local festival is also an opportunity for these associations to recruit new members and finance their annual activities.
The Fête Locale de Delle is part of the calendar of events in the South Territoire, alongside the Foire de Delle, the Delle Jazz Festival, and the various village festivals in the surrounding area. It contributes to the attractiveness of the territory and strengthens the sense of belonging to the Dellois community, in a town that welcomes many cross-border workers every day who work in Switzerland.
The 2026 Fête Locale de Delle will offer a new weekend of popular festivities with family activities, shows, a pétanque tournament, friendly catering, and a dancing evening in the town center.
For the summer of 2026, the Fête Locale de Delle will return to the town center for a new festive weekend. Activities for children, a pétanque tournament, concerts, catering, and a popular ball will be on the program. Details to come on the Delle town hall website.
