July 14th celebration in Franconville, a green town between the plain and the Montmorency forest
Franconville (95130) is a residential town in Val-d'Oise with approximately 35,000 inhabitants, located about twenty kilometers northwest of Paris. The town is bordered to the north by the Montmorency forest, one of the largest deciduous forests in Île-de-France, and extends over the hills overlooking the plain of France. This exceptional natural setting gives Franconville a residential and green character that contrasts with the denser suburbs of the near Parisian crown.
Served by the RER C (Franconville-le-Plessis station), Franconville is a middle-class town, attached to quality of life and local dynamism. The National Holiday is celebrated there with the care and commitment characteristic of a town where associative life is particularly active.
The July 14th fireworks in Franconville benefit from the town's exceptional setting, with its green spaces, parks, and proximity to the Montmorency forest. Fired from one of the town's open spaces, the fireworks illuminate a landscape of hills and foliage that gives it a special character. Residents gather on lawns and meadows to watch the show in ideal conditions.
The Parc de l'Hôtel de Ville and the large green spaces of the town are traditionally used for the July 14th festivities, offering both the necessary space to welcome the public and the natural setting that makes Franconville charming.
The July 14th popular balls in Franconville perpetuate the republican tradition in a town where conviviality is a shared value. These balls, organized in the neighborhoods and public spaces of the town, bring residents together around music and dance in a family-friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Local associations, in collaboration with the town hall, contribute to the animation of these festive evenings.
Throughout the day of July 14th, activities for families are offered in Franconville: games and activities for children, open-air concerts, exhibitions, sports demonstrations, and festive catering. These activities allow families to spend a full day outdoors, enjoying the town's natural setting.
The town of Franconville attaches particular importance to activities for children and families, in the spirit of a national holiday accessible to all and which strengthens the bond between generations.
The proximity of the Montmorency forest is one of Franconville's most endearing features. This 2,500-hectare state forest, dominated by chestnut trees, welcomes millions of visitors each year and constitutes the green lung of the entire northern region of Val-d'Oise. For the National Holiday, it offers Franconville residents a setting for walks and relaxation before the evening festivities.
The Fête Nationale de Franconville is thus a celebration that combines republican civic engagement with the sweet life of a green town, where nature is within reach and where residents share a sincere attachment to their territory and its values.
