The National Day in Sevran: the popular ball at Parc Louis-Armand
Every July 13th, the town of Sevran (93270) transforms Parc Louis-Armand into a popular festival space to celebrate the eve of the National Day. This large landscaped park in the heart of the town is the setting for a friendly, intergenerational ball that perpetuates the republican tradition of the July 14th popular ball.
The 2025 edition highlighted dance with the participation of La Fée du bal, an orchestra of six instrumentalists and a singer offering a "Happy Bal" program combining the great classics of 20th-century dance: swing, charleston, rock'n'roll, blues, waltz, cha-cha-cha, salsa, pop, and disco. A costumed septet accompanied by a dance couple invited the public of all ages to discover ballroom dancing through joyful and accessible initiations.
A ball for all ages and all levels
The particularity of the Sevran ball is its resolutely inclusive and festive nature. The initiations offered by the dancers allow beginners to join in without apprehension, while regulars happily rediscover the atmosphere of the great popular balls of yesteryear. Conviviality is at the heart of the event: people come with family, as a couple, or with friends to share the joy of dancing together.
The tradition of the July 14th ball is one of the oldest in France. Born during the Revolution, it has been perpetuated through the centuries to become one of the most vibrant symbols of republican celebration. Sevran, with its ball at Parc Louis-Armand, embodies this tradition with warmth and generosity.
Sevran, green and popular city
Sevran is a town of 50,000 inhabitants, crossed by the Canal de l'Ourcq and rich in green spaces. Parc Louis-Armand, named after the great French industrialist and engineer who was notably the general manager of SNCF, is one of the favorite living spaces of Sevran residents. It hosts sports, cultural, and festive events throughout the year that punctuate the life of the commune.
Sevran benefits from good public transport links with the RER B (Sevran-Livry or Sevran-Beaudottes stations) and the T4 tramway. The town actively participates in the Grand Paris Grand Est community and develops its cultural and sports facilities as part of Grand Paris.
