The National Day in Antony: An Evening at Parc de la Noisette

On the edge of the Essonne department, the town of Antony (Hauts-de-Seine) celebrates the National Day every year with a festive and popular program held in the magnificent natural setting of Parc de la Noisette. Located on the green corridor, this park offers an ideal space to gather the thousands of residents who meet for the evening of July 13th.

Fireworks Co-organized with Verrières-le-Buisson

One of the particularities of Antony's National Day is its fireworks display shared with the neighboring town of Verrières-le-Buisson. This inter-municipal cooperation allows for a large-scale pyrotechnic show, more ambitious than a display by a single town. The fireworks are launched from Parc de la Noisette, on the border between the two towns, and are visible from a wide surrounding area.

At 11 PM, the sky above Antony and Verrières-le-Buisson lights up with colors and lights in a carefully choreographed show. Families settle on the park lawns well in advance, bringing cushions, picnics, and blankets to comfortably enjoy the spectacle. Adapted security measures are in place at the site entrance.

The Firefighters' Ball: Antony's Festive Night

In parallel with the fireworks, the firefighters' ball livens up the evening at the Antony Rescue Center, located at 2 avenue Armand-Guillebaud. From 9 PM until 4 AM, the fire station opens its doors in a festive and fraternal atmosphere. Music gets people dancing, families mingle, and the spirit of conviviality that characterizes these popular evenings makes the firefighters' balls one of the most anticipated moments of the National Day.

The firefighters' ball is a French institution born in 1937, when Parisian firefighters had the idea of organizing public dances in their stations to fund the purchase of equipment. Since then, this tradition has spread throughout France, and Antony faithfully perpetuates this heritage with a friendly evening open to all.

Food Trucks and Entertainment on the Green Corridor

To complement the evening, food trucks are set up around Parc de la Noisette, offering a variety of food options to accompany the festivities. A funfair and guinguette atmosphere fills the air, with the green corridor serving as a connecting thread between the different activities. Picnics are also encouraged, allowing families to settle in from dusk and wait for the fireworks in a relaxed atmosphere.

An Event Rooted in Antony's Life

Antony's National Day is organized by the municipality in partnership with rescue services, local associations, and neighborhood committees. It mobilizes hundreds of volunteers and municipal agents each year to ensure the safety and smooth running of the festivities. Access to all activities is completely free, in line with the event's republican spirit.

Antony, a town of approximately 63,000 inhabitants, is one of the most dynamic municipalities in the southern Hauts-de-Seine. Its National Day, driven by the spirit of inter-municipal cooperation and the richness of its associative fabric, reflects its dynamism: festive, open, and deeply attached to its republican values.
