National Day in Choisy-le-Roi: The Seine Celebrates

Every July 13th or 14th, the town of Choisy-le-Roi (94600) transforms its Seine riverbanks into a large public celebration open to all. The municipality, located at the confluence of the Seine and the Marne, takes advantage of its magnificent banks to offer one of the most anticipated events of the summer in Val-de-Marne.

A Guinguette Evening at Parc de la Grande Mademoiselle

The July 14th festivities in Choisy-le-Roi begin in the late afternoon at the Parc de la Grande Mademoiselle, which is transformed for the occasion into a large open-air guinguette. The atmosphere is both festive and relaxed: Latin, Afro, Funk, and world music sounds liven up the park, where families, friends, and neighbors gather around tables set up for the occasion.

Foodtrucks offer a varied catering selection for all tastes, while the firefighters' bar of Choisy-le-Roi provides refreshments and drinks in a friendly atmosphere. Live music bands take turns on stage: in 2025, the band Mixtura with its Latin sounds made the Choisy residents dance until the fireworks.

The Fireworks: "Along the Seine"

The highlight of the evening is undoubtedly the pyromelodic fireworks display, launched at 11:30 PM from the banks of the Seine, opposite the Aragon media library, Quai Fernand Dupuy. The show, titled "Au fil de la Seine", pays homage to the river and its luminous reflections with pyrotechnic effects carefully choreographed to an original soundtrack.

The Seine offers an exceptional setting for this show: the reflections of the light bursts and cascades mirror in the water, creating striking visual effects visible from both banks. Thousands of spectators gather on the quays and in the park to witness this moment of collective beauty.

Organization and Security

To ensure everyone's safety, strict organizational measures are in place. Traffic is prohibited on Quai Fernand Dupuy from Saturday, July 13th, 8 AM to Sunday, July 14th, 1 AM. Filtering points with bag checks are set up at all entrances to the festive area. It is recommended to arrive early to find a good spot and to bring clothing suitable for a summer evening.
