500th Saint-Siffrein Fair - 2025 Edition

The 2025 edition of the Saint-Siffrein Fair, held from November 27th to 30th, 2025 in Carpentras, was an exceptional edition: the 500th, half a millennium of uninterrupted tradition since the fair's creation in 1524 under the Comtat Venaissin. To celebrate this historic milestone, the city of Carpentras designed a particularly rich anniversary program, and the public responded with 51,400 visitors, an absolute record for this fair.

The flagship artwork of the centenary edition was the reconstruction in cardboard of the Porte Notre-Dame, one of Carpentras's emblematic medieval gates, created with public participation. This monumental ephemeral installation symbolized the link between the city's historical heritage and contemporary participatory creativity. Hundreds of Carpentras residents and visitors contributed to its construction, creating a strong collective memory of this anniversary edition.

The Provençal village brought together artisans in traditional costume — potters, weavers, santon makers, blacksmiths, hat makers — demonstrating their ancestral skills. The animal exhibitions hosted purebred cattle, donkeys from Provence, draft horses, goats from the Rove, and poultry. The specialties market offered berlingots from Carpentras, the first black truffles of the season, nougats, olives, lavender honey, and wines from the Dentelles de Montmirail. Concerts, street performances, and cultural events completed this exceptional program for the 500th edition.
