Edition 2029 — Grand Pardon
82nd edition of the Grand Pardon de Chaumont. Saint John the Baptist's Day falling on a Sunday, June 24, 2029, the city will celebrate its Grand Pardon with a solemn procession, a parade of flower-adorned floats, street decoration, and popular festivities. Over 40,000 visitors are expected.
82nd Edition of the Grand Pardon – June 24, 2029
The next Grand Pardon de Chaumont will take place on Sunday, June 24, 2029, eleven years after the 81st edition in 2018. This 82nd edition will be marked by the completion of the restoration of the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Basilica, which began in 2022, allowing pilgrims to experience the edifice in all its splendor.
Bishop de Metz-Noblat has invited over 40,000 visitors to this exceptional day. As with every Grand Pardon, the festivities will begin on the first Sunday of Advent 2028 with the official opening of the Grand Pardon year by the diocesan bishop, followed by several months of concerts, exhibitions, conferences, and shows.
