About Rochemaure Aquarelle
The Rochemaure International Watercolour Biennial, organised by the Rochemaure Aquarelle association, brings together watercolour artists from around the world every two years in the sumptuous setting of Château de Joviac. Created in 2007, over its first ten editions, the biennial has welcomed more than a hundred different artists with a very high renewal rate. The event offers exhibitions, demonstrations, visits, and workshops, allowing visitors to discover the diversity of contemporary watercolour and meet internationally renowned artists.
Rochemaure Aquarelle — edition 2026
The 11th Rochemaure International Watercolor Biennial takes place from Saturday, July 4 to Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Château de Joviac, from 10 AM to 7 PM. 21 international watercolorists exhibit their works, accompanied by live demonstrations and a program of 21 workshops led by the invited artists.
11th edition — from July 4 to 14, 2026
For its 11th edition, the Rochemaure International Watercolor Biennial once again takes over Château de Joviac from Saturday, July 4 to Tuesday, July 14, 2026, every day from 10 AM to 7 PM. The event, organized by the Rochemaure Aquarelle association (chaired since this edition by Jérôme Guerry, who succeeds Marie Thé Canovas after nine years at the head of the association), brings together 21 international watercolorists this year.
An international selection
The 2026 selection brings together artists from Italy, Moldova, Brazil, Argentina, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Kosovo, Belgium, Haiti, and France. Alongside live demonstrations in the castle's rooms, the public can discover a diversity of techniques and styles, from contemporary landscape to expressive flowers, as well as portraits, seascapes, and animal subjects.
A program of 21 workshops
The 2026 edition offers 21 workshops led by the invited artists, spread throughout the duration of the biennial: 3-day workshops, 2-day workshops, and one-day discovery sessions. Registrations are made directly with the association, online or by mail.

International Watercolour at Château de Joviac
Over the editions, the Rochemaure International Watercolour Biennial has become an unmissable event for watercolour enthusiasts and professionals worldwide. Organised by the Rochemaure Aquarelle association, it takes place in the majestic setting of Château de Joviac, a noble 16th-17th century residence, on the heights of Rochemaure, in Ardèche.

Château de Joviac, the Event's Jewel Box
Château de Joviac, located on Boulevard de la Croix de la Lauze in Rochemaure, is a remarkable example of noble architecture. The bucolic setting of the park invites contemplation and rest between visits.
