International watercolour biennial at the Château de Joviac
The Rochemaure International Watercolour Biennial has become, over the editions, a must-attend event for watercolour enthusiasts and professionals worldwide. Organized by the Rochemaure Aquarelle association, it takes place in the majestic setting of the Château de Joviac, a noble residence from the 16th-17th century listed as a historical monument, on the heights of Rochemaure.
The biennial is distinguished by the excellence and diversity of its program:
With over 139 artists featured and a renewal rate of 91%, each edition offers a renewed discovery of the richness of contemporary global watercolour.
The Château de Joviac, located at boulevard de la Croix de la Lauze in Rochemaure, is a remarkable example of early 17th-century noble architecture. Surrounded by its wooded park and agricultural outbuildings, the château offers bright and elegant exhibition spaces, perfectly suited for showcasing works on paper. The bucolic setting of the park invites contemplation and rest between exhibition visits.
The International Watercolour Biennial has established itself as one of the major cultural events in southern Ardèche. It attracts a loyal and passionate audience from all over France and abroad, contributing to the cultural and tourist influence of Rochemaure and the entire region. The workshops offered during the event allow everyone to discover or perfect their watercolour skills under the guidance of leading artists.
The biennial takes place at the Château de Joviac, 1915 boulevard de la Croix de la Lauze, Rochemaure (07400).
From July 4 to 14, 2026.
