Jazz, pop, and rock in the heart of an exceptional wine estate
Every summer, Château de Berne, a prestigious wine estate and hotel located between Flayosc and Lorgues, hosts Jazz in Berne, a festival combining live music and Provençal art de vivre. Jazz, pop, and rock performances take place outdoors under the Var stars, in a sumptuous natural setting. The festival features quality concerts, wine tastings from the estate, and Mediterranean gastronomy.
The Jazz in Berne Festival is one of the most unique musical events in the Var. Organized in the heart of Château de Berne, an internationally renowned wine estate and hotel located between Flayosc and Lorgues, it offers a program each summer that blends jazz, pop, rock, and soul, in an exceptional natural setting amidst Provençal vineyards.
The estate's open-air stage, set against the backdrop of the vineyards and wooded hills of the Var, provides remarkable acoustics and an intimate atmosphere that distinguishes Jazz in Berne from large-scale festivals. Each concert evening, the audience is invited to discover the AOC Côtes de Provence wines from Château de Berne, whose blended rosés and reds have forged the estate's international reputation.
Château de Berne is no ordinary place. This 800-hectare estate, listed among the most beautiful in Provence, includes vineyards, olive groves, forests, and a luxury hotel-spa. Its history dates back to the Middle Ages, and the current buildings, restored and expanded, combine the charm of a Provençal bastide with architectural modernity. The estate produces over a million bottles annually, primarily rosés that are among the best in the Côtes de Provence appellation.
Hosting a live music festival is naturally part of Château de Berne's DNA, which has always combined wine culture with arts and gastronomy. The Jazz in Berne festival is therefore conceived as a global experience: spectators arrive before the concerts to enjoy an aperitif at the cellar, discover tasting workshops, or dine at the estate's restaurant before heading to the park for the musical evening.
The Jazz in Berne program is distinguished by its diversity and artistic quality. While jazz remains the festival's common thread, the Berne stage also hosts leading pop, rock, and soul artists, ensuring accessibility to all audiences. The programmed artists enjoy national and international recognition, whether they are established headliners or artists on the rise.
In 2025, the festival spanned from mid-July to early August, offering several evenings of concerts with a controlled capacity, allowing each spectator to benefit from optimal access to the stage and a quality experience. The evenings begin at dusk, taking advantage of the mild Var nights and the natural lighting of the sunset over the vineyards.
Over the years, Jazz in Berne has established itself as one of the flagship cultural events of the summer in the inland Var. It attracts a loyal audience of music lovers and epicureans from across the PACA region and neighboring departments, as well as numerous tourists staying at the estate or in the surrounding villages of Dracénie.
The festival actively contributes to the region's tourism and cultural influence, promoting both the natural and wine heritage of the Var and musical excellence. It is supported by local authorities and benefits from growing national media coverage.
Jazz in Berne perfectly embodies the Provençal art de vivre: the evenings are long, festive, and convivial. The nocturnal program, the quality of the wines served, the beauty of the setting, and the warm atmosphere create a memorable experience that goes beyond a simple concert. For many spectators, an evening at Jazz in Berne is as much a dinner in an exceptional setting as an unforgettable musical moment.
Jazz in Berne returns in 2026 to Château de Berne for new summer musical evenings between Flayosc and Lorgues. Jazz, pop, and rock will once again be on the bill in this exceptional wine-growing setting in the Var, with a quality program expected for July and August.
The Jazz in Berne festival will return in July and August 2026 to enchant the nights of the Var at Château de Berne. This new edition will perpetuate the tradition of excellence that has made the event famous: open-air concerts in the estate's park, Château de Berne wines for tasting, Provençal gastronomy, and a convivial atmosphere.
The 2026 program will once again blend jazz, pop, and rock, with quality national and international artists. Detailed information (specific dates, artists, prices) will be announced in the spring of 2026 on the festival's official website.
Jazz in Berne 2026 promises to be another unmissable event for all lovers of live music and the Provençal art de vivre in the inland Var.
