About PULP Festival

Created in 2014 at La Ferme du Buisson, a national stage in Marne-la-Vallée, PULP Festival is a unique event in France where comics leave their panels to take over all the spaces of an exceptional heritage site. For three days in April, the festival breaks down the boundaries between comics, visual arts, performing arts, cinema, and music, offering immersive exhibitions, performances, author meetings, workshops, screenings, and a rich ephemeral bookstore. Major authors such as Christophe Blain, Lorenzo Mattotti, Philippe Druillet, Posy Simmonds, and Cyril Pedrosa have crossed paths with visual artists, musicians, and performers, making PULP a creative laboratory where the ninth art dialogues with all disciplines.

PULP Festival: When Comics Embrace All Arts

Founded in 2014 in the heart of La Ferme du Buisson, the former Menier chocolate factory turned national stage in Marne-la-Vallée, PULP Festival was born from a singular ambition: to explode the boundaries of comics by confronting it with visual arts, performing arts, cinema, and music. Every year in April, this remarkable heritage site in Noisiel transforms into a vast playground where the ninth art expresses itself in all its dimensions.

A Festival That Reinvents Comics

PULP Festival is unlike any other comic book fair. Here, there are no traditional rows of stands, but immersive exhibitions designed specifically for the spaces of La Ferme du Buisson, live performances where cartoonists and musicians improvise together, and visual art installations that extend the universe of the panels into three-dimensional space. The festival blends established authors with emerging talent, alternative comics with mainstream works, in an eclectic and demanding program.

Encounters Between Exceptional Artists

Over the years, PULP Festival has hosted major figures in international comics: Christophe Blain, Lorenzo Mattotti, Philippe Druillet, Posy Simmonds, Cyril Pedrosa, Bastien Vivès, Catherine Meurisse, and Charles Burns. These authors meet artists from other fields—visual artists, choreographers, musicians, video artists—in unprecedented creative projects that push the limits of the medium.

A Unique Heritage Setting

La Ferme du Buisson, a former industrial farm of the Menier chocolate factory converted into a multidisciplinary cultural center, offers the festival an exceptional architectural setting. The former stables, the large hall, the exhibition spaces, and the theater host the various artistic proposals in a scenography that creates a dialogue between industrial heritage and contemporary creation. The festival also extends beyond its walls, with exhibitions in partner municipalities in the region.

PULP Beyond the Walls

For several years, PULP Festival has been expanding beyond La Ferme du Buisson with PULP Hors les murs (PULP Beyond the Walls), a program of free exhibitions in the media libraries, cultural centers, and town halls of neighboring towns—Chelles, Champs-sur-Marne, Croissy-Beaubourg, Lognes—allowing a wider audience to discover contemporary comics in local venues.

An Unmissable Event for the Ninth Art

In a decade, PULP Festival has established itself as a benchmark event in the French comics scene, recognized for its ability to innovate in the mediation and presentation of the ninth art. With a richly stocked ephemeral bookstore, participatory workshops, conferences, and signing sessions, the festival offers a weekend of total immersion in the world of comics and its intersections with visual and performing arts.

PULP Festival — edition 2026
