The Christmas Village at Parc Courbet with cross-country skiing and ice rink
For several years, the town of Gagny has offered its residents and families in the region a unique winter event in the north of Île-de-France: the Christmas village at Parc Courbet. Named "Gagny at Christmas Time", this annual gathering is distinguished by unusual sports and recreational attractions within the context of a Christmas market, offering experiences rarely found outside of mountain resorts.
The heart of the event is a cross-country skiing area set up in a part of Parc Courbet, allowing Gagny residents and their visitors to practice a Nordic discipline right in the Parisian suburbs. A sledding run for children and adults, as well as an ice karting track, complete the winter sports offerings, creating a mountain resort atmosphere in the heart of Seine-Saint-Denis.
These activities, organized with professional equipment, are accessible to all levels and are supervised for safety. They attract many families each year and make Gagny unique among the towns that celebrate Christmas in grand style in Seine-Saint-Denis.
The exhibitors' market is set up in and around the park, offering a selection of chalets with gift ideas and festive products. Artisans, creators, and local producers present their creations: jewelry, decorations, textiles, sweets, and regional specialties. The convivial atmosphere is strong, with food areas offering hot drinks, roasted chestnuts, and seasonal dishes to warm visitors after their sports activities.
Santa Claus is present in his house at Parc Courbet from December 1st to 24th, on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from 10 AM to 12:30 PM and from 2:30 PM to 7 PM. This regular presence makes Gagny's Christmas village an unmissable event for children, who can meet Santa Claus in a magical setting and entrust him with their holiday wishes.
In line with its policy of cultural accessibility and services for all, the City of Gagny offers free admission to the Christmas village and most of the activities. This choice illustrates the municipality's desire to make the end-of-year holidays a time shared by all residents, regardless of their means. Inaugurated with great fanfare by the mayor on November 30th, the village remains open until January 1st to accompany families throughout the holidays.
The 2026 Gagny Christmas Village will once again open its doors at Parc Courbet in late November to offer families its signature winter attractions: cross-country skiing, sledding, ice karting, an exhibitors' market, and Santa's house. The detailed program will be announced in the fall of 2026 on the town's website.
The Gagny Christmas Village is open from November 30th to January 1st, from 10 AM to 12:30 PM and from 2:30 PM to 7 PM. Santa Claus is present on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from December 1st to 24th.
