Christmas Souk, solidarity eco-village, and entertainment at Parc Stalingrad
The Aubervilliers Christmas Market stands out for its multicultural and solidarity-based character. Between the Christmas Souk organized by the association La Pépinière at Point Fort with creators and artisans from Tunisia and elsewhere, and the entertainment at Parc Stalingrad from December 17th to 24th, the city offers a Christmas celebration open to the world, rich in culinary discoveries, concerts, and festive parades.
Aubervilliers celebrates Christmas in its own way: with creativity, cultural openness, and solidarity. The municipality of Plaine Commune offers a festive program each December that is unlike any other, combining craft markets, cultural events, and family entertainment in a city deeply rooted in diversity.
One of the flagship events is the Christmas Souk, organized by the association La Pépinière at Point Fort d'Aubervilliers (174 avenue Jean Jaurès). This Christmas eco-village brings together creators, artisans, and producers from Tunisia and beyond, in a celebration that is both festive and committed. You'll find unique handmade items, jewelry, textiles, natural cosmetic products, and culinary specialties from North Africa and the Mediterranean world.
The Christmas Souk also features a solidarity raffle, a lablabi food truck (iconic Tunisian soup), and musical entertainment with concerts on Saturday evenings starting at 7 p.m. On Sundays, musical parades animate the space with Tunisian percussionists from the group Tabbel Kerkennah, creating a unique festive and warm atmosphere.
The second major festive period for Christmas in Aubervilliers takes place from December 17th to 24th at Parc Stalingrad and L'Embarcadère. A Christmas market is set up with stalls offering inspiring gifts and creative items. Entertainment for all ages enlivens the park, creating an outdoor festive atmosphere in a green setting. Santa Claus makes a much-anticipated appearance for the neighborhood's children.
The richness of the Christmas festivities in Aubervilliers perfectly reflects the identity of this city: popular, multicultural, and solidarity-based. Local associations play a central role in the organization, ensuring that the holiday season is accessible to all residents, regardless of their culture or situation. The city's illuminations, installed from early December, help create a magical atmosphere in the town's streets. The city is fully integrated into the festive dynamic of Plaine Commune, which unites the Christmas events of its nine municipalities under the banner Bel Hiver.
