A weekend in the heart of Reims' heritage

Each year, in September, the European Heritage Days transform Reims into a vast open-air museum. Dozens of emblematic sites exceptionally open their doors, offering the public the rare opportunity to discover places usually closed or to rediscover the iconic monuments of the city from a new perspective.

Exceptional sites

The Notre-Dame Cathedral of Reims, a masterpiece of Gothic art and a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1991, is the jewel of these days. The Tau Palace, former residence of the archbishops, the Basilica of Saint-Remi, the Chanzy barracks, the town hall, and the prestigious Champagne houses offer thematic guided tours and cultural activities throughout the weekend.

A rich and varied program

The program includes original thematic tours such as the Art Deco tour or the heritage bus tour, film screenings, concerts, temporary exhibitions, and workshops for all ages. The libraries of Reims and the municipal museums also participate in the event with special activities. Reims Tourisme speakers accompany visitors on fascinating guided tours, revealing the secrets and history of each monument.

A unifying event

A free event open to all, the JEP in Reims attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year, including families, history enthusiasts, and the curious, in a friendly and cultural atmosphere. Grand Reims also participates by offering heritage site openings in the surrounding towns.
