A cultural world tour in Évron

Every summer in mid-August, the Évron festival hall transforms into an international stage for the duration of the Estivales Folkloriques. Three different countries are showcased over three consecutive evenings, offering the public a true world tour of cultures through traditional dance, music, and song. This festival allows for the discovery of folk traditions sometimes unknown to the general public, in a festive and warm atmosphere.

Dazzling shows

The invited companies offer complete shows combining several forms of artistic expression:

• Traditional dances: ancestral choreographies passed down from generation to generation, performed with precision and energy
• World music: traditional instruments, popular melodies, and captivating rhythms
• Traditional costumes: spectacular ceremonial outfits, embroidered and colorful, reflecting the sartorial heritage of each country
• Popular songs: polyphonies, work songs, lullabies, and festive hymns

2025 Edition: Slovakia, Congo, and Portugal

The 2025 edition of the Estivales Folkloriques was a great success with the public, with nearly 1,500 spectators over the three evenings:

• August 12: Slovakia opened the festival with 500 captivated spectators
• August 13: the Congo offered a show considered the best of the three evenings, in front of 400 people
• August 14: Portugal closed the festival in style with 570 spectators

A partnership with the Mondial'Folk of Plozévet

The programming of the Estivales Folkloriques is established in partnership with the Festival Mondial'Folk of Plozévet (Finistère), a benchmark festival for international folklore in Brittany. This partnership allows Évron to benefit from professional-quality programming, with groups selected from the best international folk ensembles touring France.

An event rooted in the summer season

The Estivales Folkloriques are part of the "Prendre l'air" program, the summer cultural season of the City of Évron, which offers free or reduced-price shows, concerts, and entertainment throughout the summer. This festival contributes to the cultural influence of Évron and the Coëvrons region during the tourist season.
