Christmas in the heart of Alençon

Every December, the city center of Alençon is adorned with its most beautiful illuminations to welcome the Christmas Market. Set up in and around the Halle au Blé, this family event brings together dozens of exhibitors offering gift ideas, local products, and artisanal creations, in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Two weekends of festivities

The Christmas Market takes place over two consecutive weekends in December, giving visitors time to stroll among the chalets and enjoy the activities:

Crafts and creations

Local artisans present their creations: jewelry, pottery, candles, Christmas decorations, wooden toys, textiles, artisanal soaps, and many other carefully crafted items. The Halle au Blé provides a covered and warm setting to discover these skills.

Producers' Market

The second weekend hosts a Special Christmas Local Producers' Market on Place de la Magdeleine. Foie gras, confits, cheeses, honey, jams, cider, perry, calvados, and other Norman delicacies allow you to prepare holiday meals with quality local products.

Music and parades

Fanfares and musical groups parade through the streets of the city center, creating a joyful and lively atmosphere. Accordion concerts, African music, and popular music performances take place on the squares. DJ sets liven up some evenings.

Activities for children

The youngest ones are not forgotten: cartoon mascots, creative workshops, a carousel, and meetings with Santa Claus delight families. Shows suitable for young audiences complete the program.
