The indie and rock music festival of Les Inrockuptibles, at CENTQUATRE-PARIS
Founded in 1988 by the magazine Les Inrockuptibles, Les Inrocks Festival is the unmissable event for the indie, rock, and alternative music scene in France. Every year in March, CENTQUATRE-PARIS hosts a week of avant-garde programming mixing concerts, exclusive creations, exhibitions, and conferences. From The Libertines to Stereolab, from Fat White Family to Juliette Armanet, the festival has championed a demanding and curious vision of contemporary music for nearly forty years.
The Les Inrockuptibles festival was born in 1988, driven by the magazine Les Inrockuptibles, founded in 1986 as a bi-monthly publication dedicated to independent rock. Having become one of the most influential cultural media outlets in France, the magazine naturally gave birth to a festival reflecting its editorial line: discovery, excellence, and curiosity. Over the decades, Les Inrocks Festival has revealed and championed major international artists, from Radiohead to Arcade Fire, from PJ Harvey to LCD Soundsystem.
Since 2024, Les Inrocks Festival has found its home at CENTQUATRE-PARIS, an emblematic artistic establishment in the 19th arrondissement. Located at 5 rue Curial, this immense 39,000 m² space, formerly a municipal funeral service converted into a creative venue, offers an industrial and spectacular setting perfectly suited to the festival's spirit. Concerts unfold in three different rooms, allowing for dense and varied programming. For the 2026 edition, the festival also extends to the Bourse de Commerce — Pinault Collection.
The 35th edition took place from February 27 to March 2, 2024, at CENTQUATRE-PARIS, marking the festival's installation in this new venue. The Libertines, who had already made their mark on the 2002 edition, headlined this anniversary edition, a week before the release of their fourth album *All Quiet on the Eastern Esplanade*. The program also included Bracco, Gwendoline, Fat Dog, and Rallye, as well as a day of talks and conferences. Tickets were available starting at 46 euros.
The 36th edition was held from March 4 to 8, 2025, at CENTQUATRE-PARIS, with about fifteen concerts spread across three rooms. The headliners were The Voidz, the project of Julian Casablancas (leader of The Strokes), and Fat White Family, a cult British post-punk band. The program also included Sad Night Dynamite, Malice K, Astral Bakers, and Clara Kimera. A day of talks and conferences was scheduled for Saturday, March 8.
The 37th edition celebrates the 40th anniversary of Les Inrockuptibles (first issue in March 1986) from March 10 to 15, 2026, at CENTQUATRE-PARIS and the Bourse de Commerce. The lineup features Stereolab, Kids Return, Jehnny Beth, Soko, and Wu Lyf. A special "French Pop" evening on Wednesday, March 11, presents Juliette Armanet, Dominique A, Philippe Katerine, Miossec, Calypso Valois, Malik Djoudi, and Barbara Carlotti. A tribute to four decades of musical discoveries.
