About Art Basel Paris
Art Basel Paris (launched in 2022 as "Paris+ par Art Basel", then rebranded "Art Basel Paris" from 2024) is France's most prestigious contemporary art fair. Succeeding FIAC, it brings together more than 200 leading international galleries every October under the monumental glass roof of the Grand Palais in Paris. Organized by Art Basel, the world leader in art fairs (Basel, Miami Beach, Hong Kong), the fair offers a program that extends far beyond its main venue: a public program deployed in nine emblematic locations across the capital — from the Petit Palais to Avenue Winston Churchill — creates a dialogue between contemporary art and Parisian heritage. In just a few editions, the event has established itself as an unmissable fixture on the global art calendar.
Art Basel Paris — edition 2026
The 5th edition of Art Basel Paris (formerly "Paris+ par Art Basel") will be held from October 23 to 25, 2026 at the Grand Palais, preceded by preview days on October 21 and 22. The fair brings together 206 international galleries from 41 countries and territories, 65 of which have a space in France, and deploys its public program in nine emblematic venues across the capital.
5th Edition — Art Basel Paris 2026
Art Basel Paris returns for its 5th edition from October 23 to 25, 2026 at the renovated Grand Palais. This is the first edition under the direction of Karim Crippa, the new director of the Parisian fair. The 2026 selection brings together 206 galleries from 41 countries and territories, including 65 based in France, and nearly 30 galleries participating for the first time. The edition is marked by a record 12 joint booth presentations, a sign of the fair's experimental spirit.
Three Sectors
The fair is structured around three sectors: Galleries (the heart of the fair, established galleries presenting modern and contemporary art), Emergence (young galleries and emerging artists), and Premise (curatorial proposals with singular approaches). The galleries present the entire spectrum of modern and contemporary art: painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video, and digital art.
The Public Program throughout Paris
For its 5th edition, the Art Basel Paris Public Program is once again deployed in nine emblematic venues across the capital, in partnership with Parisian institutions and with Miu Miu as official partner. On Avenue Winston Churchill, seven monumental projects connect the Grand Palais to the Petit Palais, including Flower & Death by Thomas Houseago, Usagi Greeting by Leiko Ikemura, and Camarillo in Disguise by Stefan Rinck. This year, the "Oh La La!" program is curated by Loïc Prigent.

Paris+ by Art Basel: Contemporary Art at its Peak
Paris+ by Art Basel was born in 2022 from a major event in the art market: Art Basel, the world leader in art fairs (Basel, Miami Beach, Hong Kong), took over the concession of the Grand Palais for a contemporary art fair, succeeding FIAC (Foire Internationale d'Art Contemporain), which had occupied this niche for decades. This change of operator marked a turning point, propelling the Parisian fair to the rank of the most anticipated events on the international art calendar.
From its very first edition in October 2022, Paris+ made a strong impact by bringing together over 150 leading galleries under the nave of the Grand Palais. The 2025 edition confirmed this growth with 206 galleries from over 40 countries, including 63 based in France, making Paris+ one of the most important fairs in the world.
The Grand Palais: An Exceptional Setting
The Grand Palais, a masterpiece of iron and glass architecture built for the 1900 Universal Exhibition, offers an incomparable setting for the fair. Its monumental glass roof, the largest in Europe, bathes the gallery stands in natural light that enhances the artworks. After a major renovation completed in 2024, the Grand Palais has regained all its splendor, further strengthening the fair's appeal.
A Public Program Throughout Paris
The originality of Paris+ by Art Basel lies in its public program, which extends far beyond the Grand Palais to invest the city. In 2025, nine emblematic locations in the capital hosted monumental art installations:
- Place Vendôme: Alex Da Corte, Kermit the Frog, Even
- Petit Palais: Julius von Bismarck, multimedia installations
- Hôtel de la Marine: Joël Andrianomearisoa, Les Herbes folles du vieux logis
- Avenue Winston Churchill: works by various international artists
This dialogue between contemporary art and Parisian heritage, orchestrated under the direction of Loïc Prigent with the Oh La La! program, makes Paris+ much more than a simple commercial fair: a true art festival in the city.
A World-Class Fair
Paris+ by Art Basel brings together the world's greatest galleries—Gagosian, Hauser & Wirth, David Zwirner, Pace, White Cube, Thaddaeus Ropac, Perrotin, Kamel Mennour, among many others—alongside emerging galleries and less represented scenes. The fair attracts an international audience of collectors, museum directors, curators, independent curators, and discerning enthusiasts, generating transactions amounting to hundreds of millions of euros.
The event benefits from the support of the Réunion des musées nationaux — Grand Palais and leading institutional partners, consolidating Paris's position as one of the world capitals of contemporary art.
