Mon Premier Festival: Twenty Years of Cinema for Young Audiences
Since 2005, Mon Premier Festival has been opening the doors of cinema to the youngest. Initiated by the City of Paris and organized by the association Enfances au Cinéma, this unique festival accompanies thousands of children each year in discovering the seventh art, from their very first cinema experiences to films that will broaden their view of the world.
A Program Designed for Every Age
The strength of Mon Premier Festival lies in its ability to offer a program adapted to each age group, from 2 years old. Over 100 films are presented each edition: animated shorts for toddlers, adventure and discovery films for children, and more complex works for pre-teens. The selection mixes classics of children's cinema, recent films, and previews, offering a rich and varied panorama of young audience cinema.
A Committed Theme Each Year
Each edition of Mon Premier Festival revolves around a theme that gives coherence to the program and invites young viewers to reflect on the world around them. The 2025 edition, titled Les yeux plus gros que l'écran (Eyes Bigger Than the Screen), opened a reflection on ecology, responsible consumption, and the relationship with nature and food, essential topics for future generations.
An Exceptional Network of Parisian Cinemas
One of the unique features of Mon Premier Festival is its presence in about twenty partner cinemas spread across all arrondissements of Paris. From large theaters to small neighborhood cinemas, including art-house cinemas, the festival takes over the Parisian cinema network to bring cinema closer to families. This territorial network is reinforced by school screenings organized before the festival, allowing teachers to integrate film discovery into their educational projects.
A Single, Accessible Price
True to its mission of cultural democratization, Mon Premier Festival offers all its screenings at a single price of €4.50, making cinema accessible to as many families as possible. This pricing policy, supported by the City of Paris, is one of the keys to the festival's popular success, which surpassed 39,500 admissions during its 2025 edition, a historic record.
A Recognized and Supported Festival
Mon Premier Festival benefits from the support of the CNC (Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée), the City of Paris, and numerous cultural and educational partners. It is recognized as a national reference in media literacy and film programming for young audiences.
