Les Musicales de l'Abbaye du Thoronet

The 4th edition of Les Musicales de l'Abbaye du Thoronet marked the definitive establishment of this festival as an unmissable event for ancient and sacred music in the PACA region. From July 22 to October 4, 2025, a series of concerts resonated within the ancient spaces of the Cistercian abbey.

Opening with Les Chantres du Thoronet

The festival began with the traditional concert by Les Chantres du Thoronet, a vocal ensemble specializing in Gregorian chant and medieval polyphony. Their performance in the nave of the abbey church offered a unique moment of musical and spiritual communion, enhanced by the natural reverberation of the vaults.

Season Program

The 2025 edition offered a panorama of ancient music: Gregorian chant, Renaissance polyphony, baroque music for strings and voices, sacred works from the European repertoire. National and international specialized ensembles were invited for this fourth edition.

The Nocturnal Experience

The nocturnal concerts in the abbey—the site closed to visitors, the stones lit by candlelight or subtle lighting—created a sensory and spiritual experience that spectators unanimously described as unforgettable.
