Les Vendredis Baumois are a well-established summer tradition in Baume-les-Dames. From mid-July to the end of August, every Friday evening, the Place de la République transforms into an open-air music stage, hosting artists and bands for free concerts accessible to everyone.

An eclectic and popular program

The strength of Les Vendredis Baumois lies in the diversity of its musical program. Each Friday brings its own sound: one evening of traditional musette dance with accordion, the next a jazz concert under the stars, then an energetic pop rock evening, or even French variety music. The performing bands, often local, bring a warm energy and a closeness to the audience that makes these evenings charming.

Among the past artists, we find groups like Les Boeufs Attelés (pop rock), Christophe Girard (accordion), and many local and regional bands.

Place de la République, the heart of the celebration

The Place de la République, with its café terraces and harmonious architectural setting, is an ideal backdrop for these musical evenings. Spectators settle on the terraces or benches of the square, enjoying the mild summer evenings in the Doubs valley. The atmosphere is relaxed, family-friendly, and convivial, far from the hustle and bustle of major festivals.

Organized by the festival and entertainment committee of Baume-les-Dames, Les Vendredis Baumois serve an important social function. They bring together the inhabitants of the town and its surroundings for a moment of sharing and relaxation, contributing to the summer animation of this charming town at the confluence of the Doubs and the Cusancin. Concerts generally start around 8:30 PM and continue into the gentle summer night.
