The essential electronic festival on the doorstep of Paris
The story of Marvellous Island began in 2013 when a collective passionate about electronic music imagined a festival on the island of Chalet de la Porte Jaune, in the Bois de Vincennes in Paris. The concept was an immediate hit: an island transformed into a sound sanctuary, where nature and music merge to offer a unique sensory experience. Due to its immediate success, the festival sought a larger venue and in 2015 settled on the beach of the Vaires-Torcy leisure center, in Seine-et-Marne, a 350-hectare site nestled between lakes and forests.
The festival features five distinct stage universes, each with its own visual and musical identity. The main stage, located by the lake, hosts the headliners in an immersive natural setting with an open-air dancefloor on the sand. The XXL dome offers powerful techno and house sets under a monumental structure. The oriental dome invites a melodic journey tinged with world and afro house influences. The organic stage blends music and nature in a green setting, while a fifth stage showcases emerging talents and live projects.
This diversity allows Marvellous Island to cover a broad musical spectrum, from raw techno to deep house, including trance, minimal, and organic sounds, attracting both purists and newcomers.
Since its inception, the festival has hosted some of the biggest names in the global electronic scene. For its 13th edition in June 2025, the lineup included Mind Against, Bon Entendeur, Bedouin, Feder, Hugel, Vladimir Cauchemar, Joris Delacroix, Ahmed Spins, Brina Knauss, and Creeds, among over 100 artists spread across the two days.
The 14th edition, scheduled for May 23-24, 2026, confirms this ambition with a lineup blending established artists and rising stars: Reinier Zonneveld (live), Nic Fanciulli, Ben Hemsley, Korolova, Mathame, Fatima Hajji, Ilario Alicante, Mandragora, and Dennis Cruz, among others.
The regional leisure center of Vaires-Torcy, owned by the Île-de-France region, offers a unique setting for a festival of this scale. The site, which hosted the Olympic rowing and canoe-kayak events during the Paris 2024 Games, is accessible via RER A (Torcy station) and has ample parking. The festival also offers a campsite for 1,500 people, allowing festival-goers to extend the experience until the early morning, with sets continuing until 5 AM.
Marvellous Island is committed to an eco-responsible approach with selective sorting, reusable cups, partnerships with local food providers, and public awareness campaigns on environmental issues.
