Local craft beer festival in Saint-Jean-sur-Mayenne
Created in 2021, the Mayenn'Bière Festival has quickly become the annual meeting place for craft beer enthusiasts in Mayenne. Organized by the Saint-Jean-sur-Mayenne Animation Committee, the event takes place every spring on the banks of the Ernée, offering a bucolic setting to discover the brewing richness of the department.
Each year, the festival brings together about a dozen Mayenne craft breweries in one place. Among the regularly present brewers:
The 2025 edition also invited a brewer from Orne for the first time, Brasserie des Forges, demonstrating the festival's gradual opening to neighboring territories.
Beyond tasting, the Mayenn'Bière Festival offers a varied musical program with four bands performing throughout the day: brass band, groove, folk, and rock. A show for young audiences featuring a clown-magician opens the festivities at 11:30 AM, making the event accessible to families.
The festival enriches its program with diverse entertainment: vinyl record exhibition, scientific demonstrations on climate, and brewing discovery workshops. Addiction prevention stands are also present, reflecting a responsible approach.
True to its commitment to local products, the festival offers catering exclusively made from products from Mayenne producers. This approach to valuing short supply chains extends to the entire organization, with an eco-responsible policy including the loan of eco-cups to limit waste production.
The 6th edition of the Mayenn'Bière Festival took place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 11 AM to 8 PM, on the banks of the Ernée in Saint-Jean-sur-Mayenne. Organized by the town's Comité d'Animation, this day brought together a dozen artisanal brewers from Mayenne around concerts, a brass band, and family entertainment, in a spirit of promoting short supply chains.
On Saturday, May 2, 2026, the Mayenn'Bière Festival celebrated its 6th edition in the heart of Saint-Jean-sur-Mayenne, on the bucolic site along the Ernée. From 11 AM to 8 PM, the public could taste the productions of about ten breweries from Mayenne and enjoy a musical program alternating between a brass band, concerts, and a show for young audiences.
As in previous editions, the festival brought together the main artisanal breweries of the department to showcase their new brews. Beers were offered in half-pints, pints, or very small quantities for tasting, with the accompaniment of a beer expert (biérologue) introducing the public to zythology ("you absolutely must not spit it out!").
The day was enlivened by several musical groups and a brass band. Catering based on local Mayenne products and entertainment for children completed the program, true to the family-friendly and convivial spirit of the event.
Access to the festival was maintained at €1 per person, with free loan of an eco-cup to limit waste.
