A medieval and fantasy festival in Ardèche

Médié'Vals is a young festival that blends medieval and fantasy universes in the lush setting of the municipal park of Vals-les-Bains. Born in 2024 from the success of a first edition that won over the Ardèche public, the festival is now driven by the Médié'Vals association, which aims to make it an unmissable annual event for medieval and fantasy enthusiasts.

An artisanal market and ancient crafts

The heart of the festival is its artisanal market, which brings together artisans offering creations inspired by the Middle Ages and the fantasy universe: jewelry, decorative weapons, costumes, leather goods, pottery, and medieval delicacies. Demonstrations of ancient crafts allow visitors to discover the know-how of the era: blacksmithing, woodworking, weaving, and calligraphy. Artisans explain their techniques and invite the public to try their hand at these ancestral practices.

Historical encampments, entertainment, and shows

Historical encampments are animated continuously, including that of the company L'Ours au Cor d'Acier, which offers an immersion into medieval daily life. Various entertainment - armored combat, archery, medieval games - punctuate the two days of the festival, accessible to the whole family. Street shows and artistic performances animate the park's pathways.

An epic closing concert

The musical highlight of Médié'Vals is the closing concert on Saturday evening. The 2025 edition hosted the group Naheulband, a famous medieval and humorous metal band inspired by the universe of Donjon de Naheulbeuk, for an epic concert mixing music, humor, and fantasy. The municipal park offers an ideal setting for these open-air musical evenings, among the centuries-old trees and shaded paths of the spa town.
