The gourmet meeting of Drôme and Ardèche
Created in 2015, the Valence en Gastronomie Festival was born from the desire to unite taste actors in Drôme and Ardèche around a festive and accessible event. Supported by the association De la Terre aux Étoiles, which promotes responsible and excellent gastronomy, the festival has quickly established itself as the unmissable meeting point for gourmets in the Rhône Valley.
For four days in September, the Champ de Mars in Valence transforms into a true gastronomic village. The festival program is structured around several highlights:
Valence, classified as a Cité de la Gastronomie (City of Gastronomy), is an exceptional territory for culinary arts. The festival highlights the richness of the Drôme and Ardèche terroir: truffles, nougats, picodon cheese, Clairette de Die sparkling wine, Rhône Valley fruits, Valrhona chocolates, olive oils, Côtes du Rhône wines... So many excellent products that visitors can discover and taste throughout the festival.
True to the values of the association De la Terre aux Étoiles, the festival places responsible gastronomy at the heart of its approach. Short supply chains, promotion of local producers, fight against food waste, and raising awareness among young audiences are all commitments supported by the event. The festival is also part of the Vallée de la Gastronomie (Gastronomy Valley), a gourmet route connecting Dijon to Marseille.
With over 60,000 visitors during its 9th edition in 2024, the Valence en Gastronomie Festival confirms its growing attractiveness. It contributes to Valence's influence as a major gastronomic destination in France and attracts an increasingly wide audience, from families to restaurant professionals.
The Valence en Gastronomie Festival returns for its 11th edition from September 10 to 13, 2026. The full program will be announced in the summer of 2026. As every year, the festival will feature its emblematic highlights: the Nuit des Étoilés, the Pagodes aux Goûtatou, the Labo des P'tits Chefs, and numerous activities centered around responsible gastronomy.
