A Festive and Supportive Christmas Market

Every early December, the town of Brétigny-sur-Orge (91220) hosts its Christmas Market on Place du 11 Novembre 1918, in the historic heart of the commune. The uniqueness of this event lies in its dual purpose: to offer residents a traditional and warm Christmas village while collecting funds for the Telethon. A charity raffle is organized throughout the weekend, with tickets starting from €1, and the proceeds are donated to the French Association Against Myopathies (AFM).

A Spectacular Entertainment Program

The weekend program is particularly rich and varied. On Friday evening, the lighting ceremony is celebrated with a grand parade followed by the official inauguration of the market. Saturday offers a range of entertainment: Christmas choirs, a moving Christmas forest, folk dances, the Christmas Ladies strolling around, and creative workshops for children. On Sunday, a special cinema screening of "Mission Santa Claus" is organized, while mischievous elves entertain the market, choirs resume their concerts, and Portuguese dances make an appearance. The day concludes with the solemn presentation of the check to the AFM.

Over 30 Exhibitors and the Presence of Santa Claus

The Christmas village hosts over 30 exhibitors in their illuminated wooden chalets. Creative crafts, jewelry, Christmas decorations, natural Christmas trees, gourmet gifts, and regional products offer a diverse selection for all budgets. Santa Claus is present all weekend for free photos with children, in his festive chalet set up on the square.

Free Parking and Easy Access

The town of Brétigny-sur-Orge provides a special free parking arrangement for the market weekend: Jean Jaurès school parking (school grounds) accessible on Saturday from 9 am to 9 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 8 pm, as well as the PSR station parking available from Friday to Sunday. This ease of access makes it one of the most accessible Christmas markets in Essonne.
