Brétigny-sur-Orge is a town in Essonne with approximately 26,000 inhabitants, known for its community and cultural dynamism. Every early June, the town organizes its Fête de la Ville, an unmissable popular event held at Place du 11 Novembre 1918, in the heart of the town.

Two days of festivities

The Fête de la Ville takes place over two days, Saturday and Sunday, offering a dense and varied program:

• Circus arts with the Cirque Ovale: children's circus cabaret, acrobatics acts for ages 12 and up, family workshops from age 4
• Creative workshops: Kamishibaï (Japanese illustrated storytelling) from age 5, face painting and temporary tattoos
• Sports activities: climbing wall from age 6, games from the toy library
• Street performances and activities throughout both days
• Catering on-site with local associations and businesses

Brétigny-sur-Orge has quality cultural facilities, including the Théâtre Brétigny, a national stage recognized for art and creation (SN-AC), which offers a demanding program in dance and performing arts throughout the season. The town is also known for its many sports and cultural associations.

Le Théâtre Brétigny

The Théâtre Brétigny is a major facility in the town. As a national stage for art and creation, it programs contemporary dance, theater, and artistic performances of national and international scope. Its 2025-2026 program is particularly rich.

2025 Edition

The 2025 Fête de la Ville was held on Saturday, June 7th and Sunday, June 8th, 2025 at Place du 11 Novembre 1918. On the program: circus shows with Cirque Ovale (children's cabaret from 2:15 PM, acrobatics, workshops), face painting, Kamishibaï, climbing wall, games from the toy library. Activities from 2 PM, free entry. The Saturday evening program included concerts and evening entertainment.

2026 Edition

The 2026 Fête de la Ville will again be held in early June at Place du 11 Novembre 1918. The full program will be announced in the spring of 2026 on bretigny91.fr. Free entry expected.
