An enchanting Christmas village with ski slopes, ice rink, and craft market
Every year in December, Châtenay-Malabry transforms its Parc de l'Hôtel de Ville into a real Christmas village. On the program: craft market, sledding and skiing slopes supervised by instructors, ice rink, fireworks, family entertainment, and meetings with Santa Claus. A unique festive event in the Hauts-de-Seine.
Châtenay-Malabry (92290) becomes one of the must-visit destinations every December to experience the magic of Christmas in the Hauts-de-Seine. Its Christmas Village, organized by the municipality in the Parc de l'Hôtel de Ville, offers a festive and family-friendly experience of rare scale for a town in the Parisian suburbs.
At the heart of the village, the Christmas craft market brings together carefully selected creators, artisans, and producers. Jewelry, decorations, toys, textiles, gourmet products, and original gifts fill the wooden chalets arranged in the park. The warm atmosphere and Christmas lights invite strolling and discovering artisanal know-how.
What sets the Châtenay-Malabry Christmas Village apart is the integration of winter sports activities right in the heart of the event. Sledding and skiing slopes are set up in the park, supervised by qualified instructors from the École du Ski Français of Gérardmer. Equipment rental (sleds, ski boots from size 28 to 40, skis) is provided free of charge, allowing both children and adults to slide for an afternoon.
An outdoor ice rink complements this winter sports setup, offering families the chance to put on skates for a few laps in a festive and decorated atmosphere.
Throughout the five days of the village, the Town of Châtenay-Malabry offers a rich program of entertainment: carousels, horse-drawn carriages, raffles, meetings with Santa Claus and Saint Nicholas, creative workshops for children, and Christmas music concerts. Fireworks light up the sky on Saturday evening at 5:45 PM, offering a pyrotechnic show enjoyed by all generations.
Food is provided by several stands offering mulled wine, hot chocolate, crepes, waffles, and seasonal specialties, allowing visitors to warm up and eat on-site.
The Châtenay-Malabry Christmas Village embodies the town's proactive festive and cultural policy. For several years, this event has attracted thousands of visitors from neighboring towns, contributing to the liveliness of the town center and the influence of Châtenay-Malabry throughout the department. Its family-friendly, free, and accessible nature makes it a symbol of the town's conviviality and dynamism.
Châtenay-Malabry is accessible from Paris via RER B (Robinson station) then bus, or by metro line 13 (Châtillon-Montrouge station) and Île-de-France Mobilités network bus lines. By car, from the A86, take the Châtenay-Malabry exit.
The Châtenay-Malabry Christmas Village returns in December 2026 at the Parc de l'Hôtel de Ville. Craft market, ski and sled slopes, ice rink, fireworks, and family entertainment will once again be on the agenda to enchant young and old alike.
