Solidarity market, Christmas village and festive treats in the city of hills
Every December, Meudon offers several festive events for the holidays: a solidarity Christmas market at the René Leduc sports complex, a Christmas village on the terrace of the Art and Culture Center, and activities in the neighborhoods. Crafts, gastronomy, gospel, mulled wine, and family entertainment in the city of hills overlooking the Seine.
The town of Meudon (92190), a commune in the Hauts-de-Seine region known for its forests, green hills, and astronomical observatory, hosts several festive events each December, giving its residents the opportunity to share the magic of Christmas in an exceptional natural setting.
A residential and green commune on the edge of the Meudon forest, with its 44,000 inhabitants spread across Meudon, Meudon-la-Forêt, and Bellevue, the town cultivates a spirit of solidarity and community that is reflected in the organization of its Christmas markets.
The Solidarity Christmas Market is held at the René Leduc sports complex (12 rue du Père Brottier, 92190 Meudon). This market, organized on the first weekend of December, features creations and products from associations and integration workshops in the commune and the department, in a spirit of solidarity and ethics.
Visitors will find original gift ideas: textile creations, handicrafts, artisanal food products (jams, honeys, chocolates, pastries) from integration workshops, as well as works by local artists. Admission is free, with hours from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
On the terrace of the Art and Culture Center (15, boulevard des Nations Unies, 92190 Meudon), a Christmas village offers an original outdoor festive experience. This village includes:
On clear days, the terrace of the Art and Culture Center offers a magnificent view of the Seine loop, Paris in the distance, and the Meudon hills, making this Christmas village particularly picturesque.
The Meudon town hall also organizes Christmas activities in the various neighborhoods of the commune, with visits from Santa Claus accompanied by elves and costumed characters. These neighborhood visits, highly appreciated by families with young children, allow residents who cannot travel to the main markets to also enjoy the magic of Christmas.
Meudon's media libraries offer special programs in December: exhibitions, Christmas story readings for children, and festive film screenings. Meudon's cultural life intensifies in the weeks leading up to Christmas Eve.
Meudon is a commune of great heritage richness. In addition to its Meudon Observatory, an annex of the Paris Observatory, the town has the Domaine de Meudon, a former royal estate with a belvedere and castle ruins. The Meudon national forest, 1,100 hectares of woods and clearings, is one of the most frequented natural spaces in the Parisian agglomeration.
Meudon was also the place of residence or work for many artists and personalities: Auguste Rodin lived in his villa des Brillants (now a museum), Richard Wagner stayed there, and Armand Silvestre, Camille Saint-Saëns, and many others found inspiration there. This artistic history is part of Meudon's identity and is reflected in the attention paid to the cultural quality of municipal events.
Meudon's Christmas Markets 2026 will take place in December with the solidarity market at the René Leduc complex and the Christmas village on the terrace of the Art and Culture Center. Gospel music, workshops, family activities, and Santa Claus visits in the neighborhoods are planned. Dates and program to be confirmed on meudon.fr.
