26 wooden chalets at the Town Hall Forum in the heart of Troyes' historic center
The Troyes Christmas Market takes over the Town Hall Forum each year, in the heart of the city's historic center, from late November to late December. With its 26 wooden chalets made in France from sustainably managed forest wood, this market offers a selection of local artisans, creators, and regional producers. Champenois regional products, gift ideas, culinary specialties, and hot drinks are mixed with a free festive program: concerts, street performances, magical parades, and activities for children. The Troyes Christmas Market has become an unmissable event for the end-of-year holidays in the Aube region.
The Troyes Christmas Market sets up shop each year at the Forum de l'Hôtel de Ville, Place Alexandre Israël, in the historic heart of the Aube capital. Open from late November to late December, it unfolds at the foot of the Town Hall, surrounded by the half-timbered houses and medieval streets that give Troyes its charm. The 26 wooden chalets, made in France from PEFC/FSC certified wood, offer an authentic and warm setting for visitors.
The Troyes Christmas Market showcases art crafts and local gastronomy. Nearly 50 exhibitors take turns in the chalets throughout the four weeks of opening – several chalets change exhibitors week by week, allowing visitors to discover a wider variety of producers and artisans. Jewelry designers, potters, weavers, chocolatiers, champagne producers, and producers of Aube specialties offer their expertise and products, providing a range of original gift ideas and regional flavors.
Beyond the chalets, the Troyes Christmas Market offers a free festive and cultural program. Five grand magical parades punctuate the season, with Belle Époque costumes, steampunk creations, and giant toys parading through the streets of the historic center. Free concerts are scheduled on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, while the youngest visitors can enjoy Santa's mailbox, games, rides, and a carousel.
Supported by the City of Troyes, the Christmas Market is part of a broader program of end-of-year festivities that illuminate the entire city for a month. An ice rink, sports activities, neighborhood celebrations, and illuminations complete the offerings, making Troyes a prime destination to experience the magic of Christmas in Champagne. The market is open Sunday to Thursday from 11 am to 7:30 pm, and Fridays and Saturdays until 9:30 pm, allowing everyone to enjoy the festive atmosphere during the day or in the evening.
