Fête de la Musique in Antibes Juan-les-Pins — free evening on June 21st throughout the city
Every June 21st, summer solstice day, Antibes Juan-les-Pins celebrates the Fête de la Musique with free concerts throughout the city: alleys of Old Antibes, lively squares, Juan-les-Pins seafront, Esplanade du Pré des Pêcheurs. All musical styles — jazz, rock, pop, classical, gospel, electro, brass band, choral singing — share the stages and terraces for a great popular evening open to everyone, from late afternoon until the heart of the night.
Nationally initiated in 1982 by the Ministry of Culture, the Antibes Fête de la Musique brings together local amateur artists, professional groups, municipal bands, bar groups, and programming supported by the City. Several main stages (Place Nationale, Place du Safranier, Esplanade du Pré des Pêcheurs, Parvis de la Cathédrale, Place Mariejol, Jardin des Poètes) host the headliners, while the pedestrian streets vibrate with impromptu concerts.
In Antibes Juan-les-Pins, the Fête de la Musique is experienced as a grand musical stroll: from the old fortified town to the pine forest of Juan-les-Pins, passing through Port Vauban and the seafront, ephemeral stages are set up in squares, courtyards, gardens, and in front of shops. The format is the same everywhere — free entry, abundant programming, a family atmosphere in the early evening, festive as the night progresses.
The City of Antibes Juan-les-Pins, with its cultural partners, annually deploys half a dozen main stages where local and regional headliners perform:
For several editions, the Antibes Fête de la Musique has been part of the broader calendar of June musical events: the Les Nuits Carrées festival, held from June 18th to 21st on the Esplanade du Pré des Pêcheurs, traditionally concludes its edition with a free evening on June 21st, in synergy with the Fête de la Musique. This is an opportunity to string together discoveries: major stages at Pré des Pêcheurs, neighborhood stages in the old town, clubbing atmospheres in Juan-les-Pins.
Launched nationally in 1982 by Jack Lang and the Ministry of Culture, the Fête de la Musique has become an essential ritual for the start of summer. In Antibes Juan-les-Pins, a city with a strong musical tradition (Jazz à Juan, Classic'Antibes, Festival d'Art Sacré, Big Reggae Festival, Marching Band Festival), it benefits from a particularly rich pool of local artists and a loyal audience, mixing locals and visitors at the beginning of the summer season.
The Fête de la Musique 2026 in Antibes Juan-les-Pins takes place on Sunday, June 21, 2026, coinciding with the summer solstice. As every year, the event is entirely free and unfolds throughout the city: Old Antibes within the walls, Esplanade du Pré des Pêcheurs, squares and gardens of the historic center, and the Juan-les-Pins seafront. Amateur and professional concerts, all styles combined, from late afternoon until late into the night.
The 2026 edition of the Antibes Fête de la Musique is part of a particularly dense musical week, as the festival Les Nuits Carrées celebrates its 20th anniversary from June 18 to 21 on the Esplanade du Pré des Pêcheurs. The evening of June 21, traditionally dedicated to the Fête de la Musique, thus becomes the 4th free evening of the festival, with a specific program announced by the City:
In parallel, as every year, the other stages in the city (Place Nationale, Place du Safranier, Parvis de la Cathédrale, Place Mariejol, Jardin des Poètes, terraces of Juan-les-Pins) host their own programming, the full details of which are disseminated by the City and the Tourist Office closer to the event.
Historical format unchanged: free admission, no ticket required, family atmosphere from early evening and late festivities in Juan-les-Pins and around Port Vauban. The bars, restaurants, and terraces of Old Antibes play along by expanding their entertainment and acoustic stages.
Detailed hourly program for each stage published a few weeks before the event on antibesjuanlespins.com and via the city hall's social media channels.
Most stages are concentrated in Old Antibes (intra-muros) and on the seafront of Port Vauban. As the streets of the old town are pedestrianized and traffic is very dense on the evening of June 21st, it is strongly recommended to leave your car on the outskirts and reach the festivities on foot, by bike, or by public transport.
Envibus bus network: several lines serve the center of Antibes and Juan-les-Pins. Occasional reinforcements possible on the evening of June 21st (refer to the Envibus website closer to the date). Antibes SNCF train station is a 10-minute walk from Old Antibes.
The complete program (stages, times, artists) is published annually by the City of Antibes Juan-les-Pins and the Tourist Office a few weeks before the event. Consult the official city website (antibesjuanlespins.com) or the town hall's Facebook page for the updated program.
Free event, no ticket required, for all audiences. Family-friendly in the early evening (6 PM-9 PM), more festive afterward (9 PM-1 AM). On-site catering available through the bars, restaurants, and terraces of Old Antibes and Juan-les-Pins, which participate in the Fête de la Musique by extending their entertainment.
