Magical evenings and tales under the stars in Villeneuve-Loubet
Every summer, the Festival des Contes et Légendes takes over the enchanting setting of the Écoparc des Petits Princes, within the Auguste Escoffier Cultural Center in Villeneuve-Loubet. This unmissable summer event on the Côte d'Azur offers a series of outdoor storytelling evenings on Thursdays at 9 PM, from mid-July to the end of August. The ecopark transforms into a magical kingdom where words become performance, delivered by talented storytellers from all over France.
Each Thursday features a different theme, allowing attendees to discover the richness and diversity of the art of storytelling. The shows combine traditional tales, legends from around the world, funny stories, and mysterious tales, sometimes accompanied by live music. The professional storytellers, true artists of the spoken word, capture the attention of audiences of all ages with their narrative talent and stage presence. Among the shows offered: "J'veux pas dormir et autres histoires de sommeil" (I don't want to sleep and other sleep stories), "Le chant du boomerang" (The song of the boomerang), "Le monde est mon jardin" (The world is my garden), and "Tristan, Yseult et Compagnie" (Tristan, Yseult, and Company).
The Écoparc des Petits Princes provides an exceptional natural setting for these summer evenings. Spectators sit comfortably on the grass or on chairs arranged in the park, surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation. The intimate and warm atmosphere, under the starry sky of the Côte d'Azur, creates an environment conducive to listening and dreaming. The simple yet effective staging highlights the storyteller's voice and the audience's imagination.
Organized by the City of Villeneuve-Loubet, the festival is completely free and open to everyone. It is aimed at both children and adults, with each performance designed to appeal to a wide audience.
