The pop culture and retro gaming festival from the 70s to 2000s on the French Riviera
The RE-PLAY Festival is a festival dedicated to retro gaming and pop culture from the 70s to 2000s, organized every autumn in Mouans-Sartoux on the French Riviera. Created in 2012, it brings together enthusiasts of old video games, arcade machines, pinball machines, vintage toys, and vinyl records for two days in the town's gymnasiums. With its dozens of consoles available for free play, its contests, its conferences, and its notable guests, RE-PLAY Festival has become an unmissable event for geek culture on the French Riviera.
Created in 2012 in Mouans-Sartoux, the RE-PLAY Festival is the annual meeting for enthusiasts of retro gaming, pop culture, and nostalgia from the 70s to 2000s in the Alpes-Maritimes. For two days, the town transforms into a true epicenter of geek culture, bringing together collectors, gamers, and families around a unique video game and cultural heritage.
The RE-PLAY Festival offers visitors dozens of consoles, computers, and arcade machines for free play. From Atari 2600 to Super Nintendo, including legendary arcade machines and pinball machines, each machine invites you on a journey through video game history. Visitors can play freely all day, rediscovering the classics that have marked several generations of gamers.
The festival is not limited to retro gaming. It embraces all of the pop culture from the 70s to 2000s: vintage toys, collectible figurines, vinyl records, comic books, manga, and cult objects are exhibited and offered for sale by specialized exhibitors. Fascinating conferences allow you to dive into the history of video games and popular culture, while notable guests come to share their expertise and anecdotes.
The RE-PLAY Festival offers numerous contests with prizes to be won, tournaments on video game classics, and live concerts. In 2024, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Goldorak, the festival hosted Enrike, the original singer of the theme song "Goldorak, accours Prince de l'espace", for a special concert that delighted fans of the intergalactic icon.
The festival takes place in the René Friard and de la Chênaie gymnasiums, at 256 avenue de Cannes in Mouans-Sartoux. Admission is only 5 € with free in and out access all weekend, making the event accessible to everyone. In 2025, for its 13th edition, the RE-PLAY Festival has confirmed its status as a must-attend event for retro pop culture on the French Riviera, notably welcoming Recalbox among its key partners.
