About Rencontres Musicales de Bonnieux
Each summer, the hilltop village of Bonnieux, one of France's Most Beautiful Villages in the heart of the Luberon (Vaucluse), hosts a series of concerts in the Romanesque setting of its old church (upper church). These "Bonnes Nuits de Bonnieux" bring together jazz, chamber music, and recitals for the benefit of the restoration of this emblematic monument.
Summer Concerts in Bonnieux's Old Church
The Bonnieux summer concerts are organized by the Association for the Restoration of the Old Church, as part of the "Bonnes Nuits de Bonnieux". Each season, they take over the old Romanesque church (upper church) and the spaces of the hilltop village, classified among France's Most Beautiful Villages, in the heart of the Luberon.
The program is deliberately eclectic: jazz, chamber music, piano recitals, harpsichord recitals, vocal ensembles, and concerts in trio or quartet succeed one another throughout the summer and until early autumn. The acoustics and the intimate capacity of the Romanesque church offer an exceptional setting for invited soloists and ensembles.
Admission is by free contribution (suggested amount), and the proceeds are entirely donated to the restoration work of the old church. At the end of each concert, the association offers a friendly drink to the public.
Rencontres Musicales de Bonnieux — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Bonnieux's summer concerts takes place from July 2nd to September 20th, 2026, as part of the «Bonnes Nuits de Bonnieux». Six concerts punctuate the summer season in the old Romanesque church (upper church) and the spaces of the perched village, for the exclusive benefit of the restoration of this emblematic monument of the Luberon. Admission is free, with a suggested contribution of 20 €.
The Bonnes Nuits de Bonnieux 2026
For summer 2026, the Association for the Restoration of the Old Church of Bonnieux offers a series of six concerts in the exceptional setting of the old Romanesque church (upper church) and the perched village, classified among the Most Beautiful Villages of France. The eclectic program mixes jazz, chamber music, recitals, and vocal ensembles, from July 2nd to September 20th, 2026.
Each concert is offered with free admission and a suggested contribution of 20 €, the profits of which are entirely donated to the restoration work of the old church. A friendly drink is offered by the association at the end of each concert.
The concerts take place in the village, in Bonnieux (84480). Due to the limited capacity of the venue, reservations are recommended with the association (06 03 16 38 86).

Bonnieux is accessible by car from Apt (approx. 12 km) and Avignon. As the village is perched, plan to park downhill and take a short walk up to the upper church.
