Summer stage for chanson, pop, world, and funk in Puget-sur-Argens
In the festival landscape of the Var, the Mas des Escaravatiers holds a unique place. This wine estate, located in Puget-sur-Argens, on the edge of the Esterel massif, between the French Riviera and the Var hinterland, made the choice several years ago to combine the culture of wine and Provençal land with live music. Every summer, from early July to late August, it offers an open-air concert series that attracts nearly 20,000 spectators over the entire season, making it one of the most frequented summer performance venues in the department.
The programming is resolutely mainstream and eclectic: French chanson, pop, world music, and funk share the stage at the mas, with a particular focus on quality artists who are active in the French and international music scene. The capacity per concert is controlled, guaranteeing each spectator a quality experience in a privileged natural setting.
The Mas des Escaravatiers is nestled in the heart of a typically Provençal landscape: vineyards, olive trees, cork oaks, and umbrella pines surround it, with the red hues of the Esterel massif silhouetted against the starry sky on clear nights. The Mas benefits from an enviable geographical position, just a few minutes from the beaches of Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël, making it a natural musical stop for holidaymakers on the Var coast.
The open-air stage at the Mas has quality technical infrastructure, allowing it to host nationally renowned artists in optimal conditions. Friendliness is at the heart of the project: spectators can generally enjoy the estate's grounds before and after the concerts, taste the Mas's wines, and benefit from light catering.
The history of the concerts at the Mas des Escaravatiers spans many years. The Mas has become a musical institution of the inland French Riviera, accumulating over the editions an impressive roster of artists who have performed there: representatives of classic French chanson as well as contemporary pop, internationally renowned world music artists, and funk and soul bands that get summer audiences on their feet.
The accessible pricing policy, the quality of the welcome, and the diversity of the programming explain the audience's loyalty, who return year after year, forming a community of music-loving holidaymakers and locals attached to this unique cultural space in the Var.
The 2025 season of concerts at the Mas des Escaravatiers runs from July 3 to August 28, with a sustained program of one to two evenings per week. The event is part of the programming of the Agence Estérel Côte d'Azur, which federates the cultural and tourist offerings of the territory between Esterel and the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.
The concerts at the Mas des Escaravatiers actively contribute to the tourist animation of the Puget-sur-Argens, Fréjus, and Saint-Raphaël area. By offering a quality cultural experience in an authentic natural setting, the Mas helps to differentiate the experience of the Var coast beyond just the beach offerings. It illustrates the model of agricultural estates that enrich their activity through living culture, for the benefit of the territory and its visitors.
