Festival of contemporary music and performing arts in the heart of the Écrins, in Vallouise-Pelvoux
Les Envoyageurs is a festival of contemporary music and performing arts held every late summer in Vallouise-Pelvoux, in the heart of the Écrins massif, in the Hautes-Alpes. Organized by the association Les Héré'Zik since 2014, this festive and intergenerational event offers two days of concerts under a big top, circus and street performances, participatory workshops, and activities for all ages. Rock, electro, cumbia, trip-hop, brass band: the eclectic programming celebrates the diversity of today's music in an exceptional natural setting.
Since 2014, the Les Envoyageurs festival has taken over the last weekend of August in the village of Vallouise-Pelvoux, the gateway to the Parc national des Écrins, in the Hautes-Alpes. Driven by the association Les Héré'Zik, this musical and festive event brings together an intergenerational audience each year around an eclectic program of contemporary music and performing arts, in an exceptional natural setting between glaciers, peaks, and larch forests.
The heart of the festival beats under a large big top erected for the occasion, where Friday and Saturday evening concerts take place. The programming explores today's music in all its diversity: rock, electro, cumbia, trip-hop, brass band, pop, blues, world music, and festive music. Emerging bands share the stage with established acts, offering a rich and accessible panorama of current music scenes.
On Saturday during the day, the festival offers a program of free activities open to all: circus performances by invited companies, street shows, participatory workshops for children and families, an artisans' market, and musical entertainment. These daytime events, festive and accessible, make Les Envoyageurs a truly intergenerational event, where young and old alike find their place.
Les Envoyageurs is deeply rooted in the local fabric of the Vallouise valley. The association Les Héré'Zik, founded by local residents passionate about music and culture, works year-round for the cultural vitality of the region. The festival mobilizes a team of dedicated volunteers and relies on local partners for catering, accommodation, and logistics, contributing to the village's economy during the summer weekend.
True to its values, the festival champions a multidisciplinary and open program, blending discoveries and favorites, emerging artists and established acts. The bar and catering area offers local and seasonal products, and the welcome is designed to foster conviviality and sharing. Les Envoyageurs concludes the summer in style, offering a final burst of celebration and music before the return to routine, at the foot of the Écrins peaks.
